So I was thinking we make this thread were we can tell each other about the young players were preparing for the Australian National team. So if you have any players between the ages 16-20 that you think could be future stars post them here let us know there talent, consistency and intelligence and what position your aiming for. This will make it easier on future Head coaches to find Players and it has the added benefit of us being able to plan around each other.

for example Coach A has a good young TE but we already have got some good TEs ready to go into the national team so Coach A decides instead of making him a TE and competing for positions and having a good player miss out he makes him a WR instead.

I will make a list of the players for the next generation mirroring the roster of the national teams get except with one extra player at each position in case something happens. I will put all my young players in it at first but if this kicks off well then I'll replace them with the best young players posted by you guys.

Players need 3.5 talent minimum.
If you havent found the physical caps for players, then no good going on the list.
50% of 16-20 year olds wont make it past their first few years due to poor physical caps, age should not be a pre recq.

I'll change it when I'm on a computer

My post was a little short on detail also.

It takes a player 2-3 seasons to train up physicals and another 3-4 seasons to get main skills near 15. So you really cannot judge a players potential until they are 19-20. And around 23-24 before being considered as a future player. Sure there are a few freakishly early maturers. But the timeframe is close to normal.

QBs and kickers would be different as you are not chasing high physicals.

Hence what I originally posted. Hope that make a little more sense now. I'm on a mobile device also. So over the weekend I'll post up some next gen potentials.

This is a good idea, like in the UK section. Keep track of players, particularly if they're sold on or something.

I've had a drought of Aussie talent lately, but the ones I think could make it eventually are:

Chartres - 4* talent, currently 4* WR BPOS, 20 speed, 15 strength, 15 consistency, 14 intel. Catching/agility around the 9-10 level so he's some way off there. 15 strength is unknown in cap, so he could be even better. He's not quite as good as my foreign guys, and we've got a very talented Aussie WR core at the moment, but he'll be a solid player regardless. Still only 20

Johnson - 3.5* talent, 4.5* OL BPOS. 19 speed, 20 strength, 19 intel. This is a guy I actually picked off the transfer market. He's got some way to go in terms of skills (blocking 16, footwork 13, agility 10, 10 stamina) but he's potentially a future upgrade at one of the OT or C positions on the national team (we've got a slightly ageing OL, but most are still good for a few more seasons)

Patton - 4.5* talent, 2* OL BPOS. 12 speed, 19 strength, 17 consistency. Again, his skills need major work. Was an old youth pull of mine, but late season and 18 (so he was already 19 before I trained him much at all). Sold him off actually, and then picked him back up for very cheap later, so I haven't been in charge of his development his whole 3-4 seasons. Could be a decent 5* Guard in the future.

Peverill - 3.5* talent, 4.5* DL BPOS, 19 strength, 16 speed, 18 consistency, 17 intel. This guy is one of two originals I still have on the team. As a result, he's older and under developed for his age. Could come strong as a DL in a few seasons as he's got a good base and still quite a few seasons in him. However, we've got some other pretty decent players ready to go for the NT in the DL position that narrowly missed out selection this season (Ivan Wall in particular).

Faulks - 5* talent, 1.5* LB BPOS, 16 speed, 20 strength. Good physicals and fantastic talent, but a bit short and lacks good consistency/intel. Deciding to play him as an OLB, partially because of my own team needs, and also because I feel he's undersized and sort of wasted at OL/DL and too slow for CB. Still only 18.

Johnston - 3.5* talent, 4.5* SF BPOS, 17 speed, 18 strength, 20 intel, 12 consistency. I'm not actually sure about physicals caps, but hopefully I won't really need to know if the total BMI limit of 35 physical points is finally introduced (Chartres in the same boat). Other than that, obviously a great base for Safety. This position has been one Australia has struggled with in the past, but have a decent core now. Connors is getting old though, and we don't have a lot of depth beyond what we currently have (including CB Alwyn who is double positioned). Keep an eye on this guy, as he's 3rd or maybe even eventually 4th string on my team and might be moved on.

Kennedy - 3.5* talent, 18 strength, 20 consistency. I'm going to begin training him as a kicker/punter. However, I think our current batch are already very good, and I'm unlikely to take his skills up anywhere near as high (from a personal team management point of view for salaries).

I have a few other aussie talents on my books, all with incomplete physicals. Some look promising, but I only have two 4.5* talent amongst that group (currently 16/10 and 17/15 but basically nothing else going for them apart from talent).

Also, keep in mind I have a spreadsheet with a lot of random Aussie players with major stats scouted out. Obviously some of these players will be better than listed (due to training), but it's something I keep semi-regularly updated and will pass onto the next NT coach whenever I step down or get outvoted. On those books there are some OL/DL/WR/QB guys in particular that could step it up eventually, and the Sunshine Bucs + Kamikaze have taken over Slumbering Skink's role as Aussie talent factories so there's always something new there.

The actual NT team itself also contains a few young players who have a lot of upside still in them.

Okay,
Will list talent if max bpos has not been reached.
All physical skills are capped unless stated otherwise.
Main and secondry skills listed if over 10.

Jimmy McDougall (ID 935663)
24yo 5.0* QB
Intelligence 19, Height (ft)6'5", Consistency 17.
Brought from transfer market. Should be my starter soon. Skills 13ish.

Jonathon Welsh (ID 1414958)
20 yo 2.5* QB (4.5* talent)
Intelligence 20, Height (ft)6'3", Consistency 20.
Brought for $14K on the transfer market. Some people are just crazy letting go good players.

Jared Grose (ID 616404)
23 yo 4.5* RB/4.5* TE
Speed 17, Strength 19, Consistency 14.
Toying with using him as a OL also due to high STR. I really need to up his skills, but he is stuck behind 2 solid TEs already on the team.

Nathan Jones (ID 472482)
25yo 4.5* RB/4.5* TE/2.0* WR
Speed 19, Strength 16, Consistency 15.
Been with me since my first season. Skills 14ish.

Kai Carlile (ID 1103184)
20yo 4.5* WR/2.5* KR
Speed 20, Strength 15, Consistency 18.
Skills 12ish.

Alastair Ellard (ID 1371599)
19yo 2.0* WR (3.5* talent)
Speed 19 uncap, Strength 16 uncap, Consistency 18.
Yes that is both uncapped physicals. Will dominate physically when skills get higher.

Aisake Holland (ID 1224758)
19yo 4.5* OL
Speed 16 uncap, Strength 19, Consistency 19.
Youth pull a while back. Skills 11ish.

Easton Johnstone (ID 741047)
27yo 4.5* OL
Speed 18, Strength 19, Consistency 19.
Didn't make the team this cycle, should have though. Skills 17ish, stamina will go up next week. Another transfer market picked for peanuts.

Edward Shirley (ID 1266209)
20yo 4.5* OL
Speed 15 uncap, Strength 20, Intelligence 15, Consistency 18.
This dude will anchor my OL in seasons to come. Skills 10ish.

Aisake Elliott (ID 1285967)
20 yo 3.5* TE (4.5* talent)
Speed 18, Strength 18 uncap, Consistency 11.
OMG, the beast! Speed + Strength + talent = doomed defenses.

Bryan Climstein (ID 1321429)
19yo 4.5* DL
Speed 16 uncap, Strength 19 uncap.
Yes that is both uncapped physicals. Will dominate physically when skills get higher. Low CON but physicals should override that.

Lachie Doughty (ID 1328765)
18yo 3.0* LB (3.5* talent)
Speed 18, Strength 18.
Recent Peanut pick. Low CON but who cares.

Howard Greenwood (ID 1350682)
18yo 3.0* LB (4.0* talent)
Speed 18, Strength 17, Consistency 16.
Youth pull I think? Was originally a DL (2.0*) but switched him. Will dual role him though in future.

Justin Bird (ID 807352)
23yo 5.0* CB
Speed 19, Strength 17 uncap, Consistency 18.
Another peanut pick. Will be strong physical CB.

Callum Kiel (ID 1119854)
20yo 5.0* SF/1.5* CB
Speed 19 uncap, Strength 16 uncap, Intelligence 15, Consistency 19.
Yes that is both uncapped physicals. Will dominate physically when skills get higher.

Kris Allen (ID 1332548)
20yo 4.5* KR
Speed 20, Strength 15 uncap.
From transfer market. Low CON and height dont see him playing any other position.

David McGuigan (ID 1220243)
21yo 4.5* KR/1.5* WR
Speed 20, Strength 14, Intelligence 15, Consistency 17.
From transfer market.

Holy crap! That is nearly enough for a whole team again.

What's his agility, tacticals and footwork like now? All 17? I did have a look at him, but from my notes at the time he was about 10 agility, 5 on both tacticals, 4 footwork with 15 block/stamina. Obviously he's had the whole group phase to improve, but that's a lot of points to make up! I think I vaguely remember comparing him to Connor Morton who is very similar (identical physicals) but was at the time much more ready to go (17 blocking, stamina. 16 footwork, 15 agility, vision. 12 positioning, so on).

He's been noted down as a future OT though, probably shifting Rhys Drummond inside and dropping Donohue altogether next cycle when they're all equal on skills with physicals being the difference.

Still, you have an impressive list of emerging talent. Those QBs look delicious.

There will always be should've, could've and maybe players. There is always another future cycle.

This bloke loves the weights room. This week he jumped +1 for all this physical skills, but isn't finished with strength yet. Also he is getting better at CB. Gonna be a damaging DB in the Bucs and Aussie squads in the future.
