I am sorry but this literally makes no sense. If the Treble is some kind of be-all and end-all achievement, since nothing else matters, then why isn't Serrie #1? If on the contrary the other trophies matter, then there is no way in hell I am ranked lower than him. The difference between the two of us is 6 trophies + 2 IB finals, which is pretty much a HOF resume in itself. Numbers don't lie.

IMHO the Treble should get you some cool points and nothing else. It is simply a statistical oddity that somehow just occurred once, even though several other teams were very close to repeat the same feat during the last few seasons (Phi, Gatr, Jhoseph and Yours Truly to name a few). Call me when somebody gets close to 4 IBF - 5 RC - 9 TD while playing in the Big 3.

Right now we are taking a single season in which the stars aligned and we are saying that it should be worth more than an entire career of unparalleled consistency (little known fact: the longest I've gone without winning some trophy is 2 seasons). And then we are saying that the team that owns every single record in the book in CE is not the best team from CE.

Whatever, I am not arguing any longer about this matter. It is up to the OP to decide whether he wants to keep this thread factual or turn it into something else.

I thought it was just a list. Not a ranked board.

I have a "Blow your own" Trumpet for sale if anyone's interested ?

Excellent condition. Bought 06.02.2016 but hardly used due to a lack of talent.
I'll throw in a free box of Own-ass kissing chapstick to protect the lips of any potential buyer.

Offers to be made via PM.

That was actually very funny. Well played, sir.

I'm with you: since this thread is no longer meaningful in terms of historical accuracy, we might as well use it for comedy relief. More jokes are therefore welcome.

Can't blame you if you were under the impression that teams are listed by picking names out of a hat.

There is a ranking though. Win more trophies and you will ascend. With your resume, for example, an IB ring will propel you into the Top 10. Another IB ring and you will then crack the Top 3. If you then win the Treble, walk on water, raise the dead, heal a leper or two and change water into wine and Coke into Pepsi, you might even be able to pass Serrie at #2.

A few months ago I tried to implement something similar to some proposals..with a few tweaks and updates here is the result:
I used this arbitrary ranking system:
Ironbowl win: 5 pts
Ironbowl rr: 2 pts
League/Cup: 1 pts with multipliers: 2x (CE, ASE, NAm); 1x (CSAm, E-B, Oc, EE); 0.5x (Asia,Af&Ar)

RANKING (top 20):

1 Guanacos 30
2 Grizzlys de St Laurent 27
3 Sparta Nijkerk 26
t4 Wilhelmshaven Seawolves 24
Badgers 24
t6 Hakers 17
San Diego Blitzkrieg 17
t8 Rotterdam Bashers 15
Mordland Colders 15
Orlando Gators 15
t11 New York Midgets 12
WKS Slask Wroclaw 12
t13 Slumbering Skink 11
Zarnovica Terminators 11
Monsters of Midway 11
16 Reservoir Docs 10
17 Weasels 9
18 Kentucky Thoroughbreds 8
19 Bat Yam Raiders 7,5
t20 Westside Wildcats 7
Kasztelan Poznan 7
Ostankino Emo Duck-Bills 7
Green Bay Blazers 7

It's nice to have a point system, but in my opinion it isn't essential since there is no way to determine the strenght of a region and simply being in a HoF is an impressive achievement!
btw, the current top15 in the HoF is pretty much spot on the only change is Kasztelan Poznan out, Monsters of Midway in..Against MoM is that they never won a league title (but they faced 2/3 hall of famer every season), while Poznan consistency (cup in s.2,12,14, title in s.13,15) could be rewarded. I can see Abcat point in including K.Poznan, but it could mean 2-3 teams with similar achievements should be considered

It's kind of both - I've never meant it to be a big deal numerically, but every so often I'll re-order things to try and tally with what I think has happened.

I did actually promote Midgets to 2nd about a week ago, but for whatever reason that edit never saved, so it's much ado about nothing really.

I'm also compiling a spreadsheet of head-to-head results among these, although it won't be finished for a while. Some interesting initial patterns though.

So here is the spreadsheet of head-to-head results.

https://imgur.com/a/iRgDpDZ

I compiled this manually, so there may be some anomalies, but there's some interesting findings. Zarnovica Terminators are clearly underestimated for example (I've promoted both them and Grizzlies a few places in light of this). Local rivalries skew the total figures a little, especially when a new team has come up against a legend in their prime, and a column with AFLC games only makes nice reading for Weasels fans.

The outstanding team in these head-to-heads are Badgers. It's a small sample size for sure, but they've got positive records against most teams they've encountered. Westside's unflattering record here can be explained by the fact that in seasons 5-18, they were good enough to win Oceanian titles but weren't quite at the world class level they are currently.Last edited on 2018-12-16 at 11:43

That is somewhat weird since I have a 75% win record in AFLC. But it is only showing the best of the best. Good teams still lose to the best.

edit// 45-36 0.555 PCT. Didn't realize I had so many seasons of 4-4. Six of them.
