A few months ago I tried to implement something similar to some proposals..with a few tweaks and updates here is the result:
I used this arbitrary ranking system:
Ironbowl win: 5 pts
Ironbowl rr: 2 pts
League/Cup: 1 pts with multipliers: 2x (CE, ASE, NAm); 1x (CSAm, E-B, Oc, EE); 0.5x (Asia,Af&Ar)

Wow, with this point system I am now #1 by a mile...

On a more serious note, what never ceases to amaze me about the HOF is that I was still the youngest team on the board until a few days ago (when Jhoseph joined the club). And I have been around forever. Jhoseph is therefore the real deal and making the HOF as a 2014 team is a pretty amazing accomplishment that has not been given enough recognition IMHO. It will be a while before we see another 2014 team in the conversation.

As of the rest of the board, we should always remember that some of the legendary managers that we are accustomed to worship (Sparta, Badgers, Grizzlys, Guanacos to name a few) had the luxury to sign up in Season 1 with a totally level playing field. I'd love to see one of them coming up with HOF credentials after starting from scratch, working his way up the ladders and taking down some established powerhouses in the process. A much more daunting challenge if you ask me. Serrie attempted something like that a few years ago, but he botted while he was still in Div. II and thus we will never know if he could have actually gone the distance.

Zagreb Hedgehogs are younger than yourself by a couple years, but Rosario have done very well indeed to de-throne Guanacos as kings of South America, and nearly win a treble into the bargain.

There are a lot of managers here who joined early, but were quite slow starters, and didn't see success until relatively recently. Thoroughbreds, Grizzlys, Moscow, and myself, somehow didn't achieve much until a few years of getting used to playing, so we still had to fight our way up a crowded league table. Indeed promoting then was harder than it is now, where the bottom two divisions in most regions are empty of humans.

Still working my way back up so I can get some more hardware. Not following the points thing, I have 3 IBs, 3 TD and 6 cups, so that should be 15 + 18 for 33 pts. Maybe someone can explain? I do agree early teams had an easier go for some early hardware, but they also motivated a lot of teams to keep at it.

If it was my poll, the IBs would be 5, the TD and RC titles would be 4 for the big 3 and 1 for the other regions. Put that in a can and shake it up. The midgets and hakers hustlers would be my vote for GOAT as the sheer longevity in TD and bump for titles in their tough regions are simply off the charts. No offense to easier regions, but they have their own issues to deal with, like fewer RC rounds for more financial gain. However, the best teams of those regions also have a much better pathway to AFLC (more financial gain and more odds to compete for iron bowls), quicker paths to TD and much less challenge for TD or RC crowns. Just my take of course

How about we just jumble up the list and not worry about a ranking? It is a HOF thread. Not a GOAT thread. Cannot believe the disagreements over something so trivial.

Happy to be on the list as far as goat gatrs might have had the most impressive run of anyone.

Two new admissions if I am not mistaken. The Warsaw Warpigs, who have recently emerged as a true powerhouse in the NA Region. And the Gastronauts Golden Oldies, who pride themselves on having the most elusive of all the GI trophies (the Div. VI one) to go along with some other minor stuff like an IB ring and whatnot.

AbCat is way too low in the rankings though. He is unquestionably the most successful team in the ASE Region at this point and thus he should not be sitting behind the Badgers/Grizzlys.

I would add Socten Lakers to this list. He won 3 NA TD titles in a row, and 3 Regional Cups as well. If Warsaw is on here (and he should be), then Socten should be as well. IMHO.

Cheers
