And dropped for this Seahawks game. Didn't last long. Although he'll be back once Reggie injures himself again.

The Hayne Plane as crashed. 49ers have cut him. Will past waivers soon. But considering his form. I'm doubtful of a practice squad gig. At 27, team don't want a project like him. But then some teams could do with any help.

Hopefully someone like the Raiders pick him up. I haven't really been paying too much attention to NFL this season, but they were a bit short in that department from memory.

I'm a Raiders fan and believe me, he's got no hope on our roster. Murray is one of the best backs in the NFL and Helu, Jones etc would be all well ahead of him - he wouldn't even go close to making the 53 man squad.

I have seen us playing Cooper as a returner which annoys me no end, but Hayne has shown too much fumblitis to be considered there anyway.

I just wonder if he'll get a gig elsewhere in the NFL or return to league or union. If he stays in the NFL I hope he makes it clear he wants to play RB - total waste otherwise.

If he make it clear he wants to play RB, then he will be out of a job. Stick with returning, and whatever else might come to him is cream on top.

Nah, I was fully thinking as a returner. They had a few depth issues there earlier due to people being put on IR.

49ers RBs - 15 carries for 10yds!

I'll bet Hayne got a good laugh out of that. And it looks like Bush is gone for the season too! It looks like the 49ers have returned to the pre Bill Walsh era!

It was an ideal situation to start Hayne this weekend in light of injuries and their season. It was a perfect opportunity to start him and find out for sure what they have there but they cut him instead. I can't even understand why they had him on the roster - must have been the hype!

Stupid situation - no sympathy for them at all!

I can only assume it was to sell 49ers merch to raving NRL fans!

Yeah, I'm starting to think it really was related to something like that. Sort of begrudgingly doing the fans, Aussies and Hayne a favour. The fact that he genuinely shone as a RB in pre season must have somehow been lost on them!

I hope he asks for a chance to start at RB with any other clubs he might speak with if any sort of opportunity to do so arises. Otherwise he should head back to league or maybe even union. Total waste otherwise - he might as well be waterboy as KR or PR - just pathetic!

Back on the practice squad.

just went over his pre season - 25 carries for 175yds

Yeah, he needs a lot of work and they clearly have better options.

Maybe Tomasula should ask the tooth fairy! They haven't got a xxxx'n clue!

It will be a real shame if he exits the NiFL without getting 20+ carries in a game - will we ever get to find out?

I hope Hayne hasn't become a slacker and is prepared to just return kicks - maybe he thinks too much of the NFL - it's no better than the NRL anyway. I have no interest in seeing a talent like that amount to little more than waterboy.

Wonder if he has a manager? If not, it would seem he needs one.
