The best part was the game announcer describing Hayne as a "legendary hero" from Australia. That gave me a good chuckle.

That wasn't the point I was attempting to make. Whether it is "from" or "in," "legendary hero" is an over statement. It is just a statement from a media person to the masses that don't otherwise know any better.
75% of Australian have very heard of him or like the sport he previously played (Rugby League). Of the 25% of those that know he exists. Half of those don't like him.
