I have just started, I wonder if anyone could give me a little heads-up on what I do now. I was hoping for a friendly, but have no idea on how to go about it.

Any suggestions?

select any team and then click the challenge button, A good way to choose a team is community/top 100.

After throwing out a few challenges you can review them @ club/challenges.

to set up for a game goto club/matches/upcoming matches. click the red button over on the right and complete those 3 pages and your teams ready for that game. Then hit "submit orders" Then the button will be green if all the positions are filled out properly.

get rid of rubbish players
spend all your money on VIP seats, then executive.

then make another post like this one!

You can challenge someone by going to their club page and clicking the "challenge" button. If it's not clickable, that means the team has already got a friendly scheduled for Monday. You can also try and post a request for a friendly in the advertisements section.

With regards to getting more info on the game in general, I'd suggest you read the thread and the google doc linked below. They'll get you started on the right path.

Many thanks for the information. I used to play an online football (soccer) game years back and enjoyed it. I am hoping I get as much enjoyment out of this one too.

Also how many challenges can I make, is there a limit?

You can have as many as 20 "active" challenges (the other managers haven't accepted your challenge, rejected it, or accepted a challenge from someone else). You can also have 20 challenges from other managers pending. Generally, if you challenge 5-10 managers, one will accept. It's a bit late in the week, meaning that most teams have already scheduled friendlies, so I'd advise you to post an ad asking for an away friendly.

The ideal stadium size is 13500, as that's the number of seats that results from the starting 1000 seats, plus the maximum number of VIP and Exec seats that can be built.

Friendly attendance is generally 10-15K, so a large stadium is actually bad-you'll still fill the same number of seats, but if the stadium has 50K instead of 13500, most of the seats filled will be regular seats ($10 each in friendlies, half the price for league games) rather than VIPs ($55) or Execs ($30). Income is split 50/50 between the two teams, so this will usually amount to 150-200K in an ideal stadium.

In short, if you can find a team with a stadium in the 10-20K range, that's best. But a friendly will always give you some ticket income, and you can choose 3 match sponsors for the game (another 12K) and get your players some BPOS (it increases by 0.5* every 10 games you play someone at a position), so if the only team you can find has a 2000-seat stadium, it's still worth scheduling a game.

That was quick. And welcome.

Read the FAQ down the bottom. And if there is anything you dont understand. Then post in the rookie section for clarification.

3 things that will make you life easier and more enjoyable as a newcomer:-
1) Read the FAQ.
2) Dont touch the transfer market.
3) Build as many VIP seats as you can from $200K in a unused stand/side.

I read the rookie forum... got a little confused as I tried to understand it ALL. I eventually got though it all. There were some parts I will need to re-read.

I placed a bid on a player on the transfer market.....OOOPS!

And I spent nearly all my starting money on VIP seats.

Knocking down your only stand wasn't a great option as you will now receive zero income for home matches.....whilst it won't kill you first time round it's a mistake you don't want to repeat.

Wouldn't recommend the high level training either keep it on normal level

You can't rush things its a very slow moving game....once you realise that though its still quite good fun and the community is fairly lively

are you trying to make a monkey outta me???
