Living life on the edge in GI, here are my finances since I started tracking end of season status in season 18:

Season 18 TD 13-5, 5-1 in cup, AFLC 8-1 Iron Bowl Champion $ 8,421,544
Season 19 TD 15-3, 11-0 in cup $ 5,048,513
Season 20 TD 15-3, 11-0 in cup, AFLC 5-3 3rd B, WC 9-5, 3rd place, $ 9,959,777
Season 21 TD 15-3, 11-0 in cup, AFLC 5-3 3rd A, $ 13,733,226
Season 22 TD 14-4, 10-1 in cup, AFLC 8-1 Iron Bowl Champion, $ 15,262,346
Season 23 TD 10-7, 6-1 in cup, AFLC 8-1 Iron Bowl Champion, $ 8,000,244

It all makes sense except for this past season, where I obviously was spending too much on my team to keep the Iron Bowl hopes alive, even though I was doing terrible in the NA TD and the cup. A huge 7 million dollar loss on the season! Normally speaking though, if you make it to the AFLC, it can still be a winning formula. Spending just needs to be reigned in if you are not in the AFLC. Seems like just yesterday I arrived in TD with about 10 mil in the bank, not much has changed there

51.5 million for me. Last season was the first season I lost money. I normally cut wages to stay in the black but I think I can be highly competitive after demotion so I was willing to cut not quite as deep and hope for a successful and profitable season this season.

I'm taking a look today at fiances as we start shutting the door on season 24. Season 24 turned out to be pretty profitable for the Clayton Bears due to a long cup run in which they reached the semi finals. The ended the season with a revenue gain of $5,870,350. This leaves them with a comfortable cash balance of $56,894,393.

One day we may decide to eat up some cash and make a serious long term run in top division but I have found it enjoyable to build a strong competitive team while trying to avoid losing money in any particular season. I think next year may be a challenge to stay in the black. I expect some decent salary increase and it will take another long cup run to stay in the black but I also have some nice young prospects ready to assume a larger role which should allow me to drop a couple of high priced veterans.

Heh. I'm rolling with 500k right now. I try to break even every year. Guess that's not so wise.

It might depend on what your overall goal is. If you hope to reach the top division and hang there for a while I think it would be wise to have a decent balance of cash. Most here would say I have more than enough cash saved which is probably true. The game is what you make it. For me, I created a couple of rules for myself that probably make it a bit more challenging for me. 1-I only roster USA players and 2-I try to run each season in the black. An early cup exit for me and I usually trim wages to stay that way.

3.6 million in the bank! Who says you need a big bank to hang out in the TD for a bit?

Just over $58 million. But I presume I'll lose about $3-4 million this season as I just got promoted to the top division where I'll get my ass kicked sideways, just like 2 years ago. Attendance will go down really bad.
