There is a bug when a player is trained to stamina 20. About 30% of the time such players will play very poorly and drop a full star in match rating. Even though they might drop from 5* to 4*, they perform like a 1/2 * right from the beginning of a game. Here are some examples -

Div 4 team beats Div 1 team (many players)
Another super Div 1 team giving up 105pts (many players)
Jinx lose in RC qtrs (CB Rey)
Rebuilding Trons beat Jinx (CB Rey)

A stam 20 player can be very probably identified by being in his mid to late 20s age wise and seen to drop a full star in match ratings.

If this cannot be found or resolved, could the cap for stamina simply be made 19 instead of 20 and all players with stam 20 dropped back to 19?

Append 1 -

It is easy to know if a player has stam 20 - the following 3 thigs will happen if you look over their last 6-10 games or so -

1/ stam will drop a full star
2/ stam will not drop at all
3/ end game rating will actually increase sometimes.

With 1/ you need be be a little careful to make sure it's not due to relax rule if that player was on a team that lead by 35+ at any point in the game.

1/ and 2/ help to make sure the player isn't just low stam.

If a player's stam is high enough that you see 1 single game where he doesn't drop at all, then unless he's stam 20 then you will never see a game where he drops a full star.

I have to say that my team used to be good and I've been training stamina on a lot of them to keep costs down, and a lot of my starters are now 20 stamina and I can't win for toffee.

Looks to me like you had 7 players on D and 8 players on Offence in your last league game - sound about right?

If you go by my last league game, 9 of my starters on offence have 20 stamina, all 11 D players have 20 stamina.

The two on offence that are not 20 stamina had no drop off in stats, however one 20 stamina player had no drop off at al. The other 8 had 1 point losses.

On defence, one player had no drop off, three 0.5 points and the rest a full point. Same could be said of my opponent though, and he doesn't have all of them 20.

I only had 0.5 point drop offs in the previous game, and even the players that don't have 20 stamina had drop offs.

So I'm not seeing any correlation here.

Not sure why some are showing a full drop and not others - I have never seen so many stam 20 players on 1 team!

In that game, the reason the other team had virtually all 1* drops is due to relax rule - he'd have put over 100+ pts on you otherwise.

As you can see, your team is at least as good as his yet he blew you out and you were even flattered by the score due to the relax rule kicking in.

It's all due to stam 20.

Like I said, it only hits about 30% of the time. Your previous league game is a perfect example. Notice also the bizarre situation where a lot of your players actually went up instead of down in that game - another tell tale sign that something is severely wrong.

Could that not just possibly be a consistency thing?

If a player has low consistency he can either drop a lot or go up? Even with stamina?

My understanding of Start/End match ratings is as follows -

Start - based on skills, BPOS and then CON
End - how much the player drops due to stam.

Whether you agree with the above or not, I'll bet you cannot show us an example of a player increasing BPOS that isn't stam 20.

From my experience, stamina 20 players don't have the drop every game. It was unpredictable for me which made it so frustrating.
The original form of the bug was a bit more obvious to see. Players with stamina 20 would sometimes have an endgame rating of .5 or 1 star. In the games where these incidents occurred, there were some strange results. Teams losing or giving up far more points than feasible given the opponent. Somebody (I don't remember who) was the victim of one of these type games and brought it up in the bugs section. Admins said it was only a visual bug and "fixed" it. However, stamina 20 players will now occasionally have a full star drop with similar strange results. My theory is that the bug allows consistency to add to stamina enough to eclipse 20, coming back around at 1, with results according.

agreed.

But I think it's probably 21 since I think they would have planned for 20.xx but forgot that CON would drive it into the 21+ range.

It is still the original bug, I think.
It has to be.
The disasters we've seen around is not caused by a few players playing with rating 4 instead of 5.
They are caused by players playing with ½ or 1 star instead of 5.

I don't think admins ever found out what was going on, so instead of fixing anything, they just camouflaged the drops, so they didn't seem so huge.
