So as we start the second half of the season, it looks like Puppets and myself will both lose to Lontra, meaning that the Puppets/Mariners game will decide who gets to go to the AFLC next season!

Maybe - if you guys meet in the cup
Runner up in the league do not give a ticket to AFLC.

If same team winns both league and cup, second team in AFLC will be the loosing Cup-finalist.

I'm pretty sure that's not correct.

Have you ever seen a situation where the Cup runner up got the invite to the AFLC over the TD runner up when the same team won both the Cup and the TD? I don't think I have.

In the past, if the same team wins both the TD and the Region Cup, the TD runner up is the 2nd AFLC participant. Only if the Cup Runner up is also the TD runner up would that be the case.

Pretty sure this is the case.

Can't find any evidence for one view or another in the rules, so I'll look around - and see what's happened in NA in the past.Last edited on 2016-08-22 at 17:20

It is the cup runner-up in that scenario.

Go back to season 18 for the last time this occurred in this region - Mariners were the cup runners-up, Nelspruit Pumas finished 2nd in the league. Mariners went to the AFLC in season 19.

Yes, or look at Gatr's double last year. He won the league and cup, with Kentucky as the league runner-up and Hakers as the cup finalist. Hakers are now playing in the AFLC.

It happened in the NA this past season. Orlando City FC won the NA Regional Cup and Div 1 title. Kentucky finished 2nd in the division while Hakers finished second in the Cup. Hakers is the team in the AFLC.

Lol, finished it as I was typing the same thing. I believe it, also, happened a few seasons ago in NA where the now departed Atlas Stones got in as the Cup Runner-up.

I thought the same but guessed it might have changed while I was away..... Either way I do t think I should be in the AFLC with my team for some time, would feel cheap to get in that way

This is correct, it's the Cup runner up that moves on to the AFLC in the case where the same team wins the TD and Cup titles
