Venezuela 7-49 United Kingdom

Always good to start against the lowest ranked nation; Venezuela have 8 teams, and maybe 200 viable players to choose from, so they're going to struggle for a few seasons until their main players mature a bit.

We started our game in the worst possible way with a lovely interception, but Corey McMillan has been around at the top for longer than Tom Brady, has won more silverware, and is just a better player all round. Against their 3 star linebackers he was never going to have a hard day, and although Venezuela gallantly matched us in the first quarter, after that the UK just accelerated away from them.

Our defense were the real stars here. Their offence never got a look in except when we gave them the ball. Both the Defensive Line, and our Linebackers did a superb job snuffing out their attacks, and that made the scoreline look very nice overall.

The only blot on the copybook was that I hadn't noticed Freddy Hancock was on a team that's doing intensive training. 75% fitness is not conducive to international team performances. He's not vital though. 20 of our outfield players scored 5* performances, which is my favourite indicator of player levels overall. No other international team is at that level currently.

Next up: Norway

UK 70-35 Norway

I decided our players could do with having a run, and it went quite well on the whole. I chose McGilveray as the QB because he's the slightly better at carrying and footwork, and is the strongest and fastest too. Marcus Black ran in nine TDs against a full strength Norwegian defence and McG got the other one. Norway got 5 TDs in reply, but our defence had a very good day on the whole too, and I might use these tactics more when we get to the sharp end.

I feel a bit bad because I advised our previous manager to not go with this tactic last season, but it's looking viable for National Teams as well.

Very much so. I've been trying to keep our good form quiet a little bit, but there's no hiding our average points scored of 64 in four games against full-strength defences, and that the closest game so far has been our most recent 70-49 win against Austria.

I've been mixing up rushing and passing offences, and both seem to be equally prolific, which means whoever we play has to try and guess how to counter our attack. Even during our run of 4 world cups in a row, we never looked in as good a shape as we do currently. But there's still a long way to go until we're even in the finals.

6-0 and we can't not qualify, as third placed Switzerland have already lost three games and can't catch us. I'll be keeping up a full team throughout in the interests of fair play and in terms of our ranking too.

Switzerland and Austria over the next two Fridays and then the World Cup (one which we can all enjoy) begins.

8-0 and looking forward to a juicy World Cup tournament in a few days' time. Also we have the best defensive record, and are the only team going into the tournament having scored twice as much as we conceded.

Congrats to Norway who have picked up the 2nd place as well.

Nice work. I'm not looking forward to my chances with New Zealand in the World Cup, but the fact I'm there ahead of Brazil and especially Italy is a bloody miracle.

Thanks for the honorable mention! New Zealand deserved that place on WC. I hope you can go further!
