You can become filthy rich in the smaller Regions too if you know what you are doing. Projectrracing of Oceania, for example, had like $ 100M in the bank a few seasons ago. On the flipside, countless managers regularly go bankrupt in the "richer" Regions because they are unable to survive in a very challenging environment that literally forces you to have an obscenely high payroll if you want to be remotely competitive.

That being said, we should definitely get rid of Div. VI in Central Europe (whose very existence no longer makes any sense at this point). It has been suggested many times in the past, but the Devs never listened.

Then we probably need just 5 Regions in lieu of the current 9:

1) Central Europe
2) Atlantic & Scandinavian Europe
3) North America
4) Eastern Europe + Balkan Region
5) Asia + Africa + Oceania + Central/South America

This would create a more balanced environment from both a financial and competitive standpoint. It would also screw up the AFLC massively, but who cares since I can't win the damn thing anyway. To hell with that.

I like the Idea about the 5 regions but then again my region wouldn't be changing

I don't think it would screw up the AFLC that much though
It would just require taking the number of participants up from 18 to 20 which could easily be done - Top 2 teams from each Top Division and also the 2 cup Finalists from each region ?

Yes, now we're starting to roll with good ideas

new groups:-

North + South Americas, Should make around 160-200 teams, called Amercias

ASE, leave as is

CE, leave as is

East Europe + Balkans + Africa, Balkans and Eastern Europe are the same thing, and Africa had to go somewhere, should make 140 teams, called East Europe + Africa

Asia + Arab + Oceania, Arabian countries are really part of Asia, should make 28 teams, called Australasian group.

Requires only the Africa+Arab region to be split apart two ways, 3 teams to EUA and 3 teams to AAS. 5 groups total.

for AFLC:-

Take 2 ranked top div teams and cup finalists, 20 teams. If they are the same teams, work your way down to ranked 3rd and 4th top div teams.

I like the idea about merging the groups so there are more human teams in the lesser dense areas.

Regarding the OP's statement, I do follow Stevie in the way the we might get more money than the others becasue - as PR's math showed - have the potential for more cup games.

But the only place I see the unequality being in force is in the AFLC where the teams meet and there, it does look like fair competetion to me.

Having the potential for extra money does not matter IMHO. All teams in the same region have the same options for making money and I do not see any proof that the teams in the larger regions having any more success in the AFLC. So I see no problem and therefore no reason to change anything.

The merger of regions would be great, and also the removal of BOT's but that I think would kill many new teams desire to play the game if they meet teams with 500.000$ wage bill the first 10 weeks of a season. It would drive them into buying high waged players on the transfer market ands then these players would be stuck on BOT teams and then resign when the team is transfered to a new owner.

NT coaches will be crying when their 40 year old speed WR is retired in the middle of the World Cup.

Thank you AudreyForever, stevie76, projectrracing and SrednaD for your great ideas about merging the groups.

I like this.

I think, which regions will have to unite in five new divisions - this is rather a mathematical problem.

Can we connect developers to our discussion or do we need to discuss this idea more with the players?

The devs do read our posts, but I have never seen them able of implementing big changes in the game. If so, they would have:

- Made better options for defensive settings
- Made clock management better
- Removed 40 second clock run down on incomplete passes
- Implemented safeties
- More realistic fumbling (not just RB's)
- Penalties
- Better (or more logical) coverage settings
- and so on...

We have seen the BMI kick in, but we still see fat 40 BMI CB's closing down speedy WR's, so I doubt that BMI is in effect.

We have seen the running game being boosted, but aside that, I can not remember any other changes.

Like it but instead of 5 groups , where Australasian group only has 28 teams. Why not add them to the East Europe & Africa group bringing that up to 168 teams( along the same lines as The Americas) and call it Rest of the World group
For AFLC :-
Take top 3 ranked teams & Cup finalists, 20 teams, then as you said work down.

Also saves splitting Arab & Africa groups

Just a suggestion

Any attempts to balance the numbers in all groups would be a positive for the game and the examples given above are able to work out AFLC so that will continue on with even stronger 20 teams top to bottom. Great ideas

There seems to be a general feeling that good ideas are being put forward here.

With that in mind, maybe the mods should shut this thread down before things REALLY get out of hand ?

We had equality in this game once, back in season 1. Some regions grew, some didn't.

If we re-balance the regions now, we will witness a similarly slow evolution take place (albeit with less growth) and then we will end up in the same spot as today, with lopsided manager numbers across all the regions.

You can try to make things balanced for everyone, but will never, ever 100% succeed in doing so, no matter how noble your intentions may be. It does not matter what measures you put in place to enforce equality; some regions are always going to end up with more managers/advantages/disadvantages/etc than others. It happens on every game like this, not just this one.

In the end, you play the hand you were dealt in life, and it's the same story here. The idea of extra games is nice, but then where is the challenge? Being guaranteed free money for simply being in a country where the game hasn't reached the same level of popularity as countries from CE or ASE doesn't seem fair, and would fly in the face of GI's take-no-prisoners approach to financial irresponsibility. Plus, given enough time, the guaranteed extra funds gained would eventually make players from (insert-desolate-region) virtually unbeatable in the transfer market, and therefore would leave those in the highly populated regions at a huge disadvantage overall.

I say, just leave it as it is. Except for the gameday/match engine. Make that appealing/fix that.
