Well I thought I had a good handle on the game and how it works but now it's gutting to see how badly my team has slumped especially my offence and barring a miracle, heading for the drop after 8 seasons in the TD. The really depressing things is I am being out scored by Bigfoot who has hardly any players you might consider to be TD quality.

With my youth academy not producing over the last two or three seasons and as I only play
British players it's going to be a long rebuild.

It's often taken for granted the achievement of winning a pair of doubles with a team of one nationality. As the pool of available players diminishes though, I guess it's harder to plug the gaps when they arise.

Losing their one good running back, I think has been the trigger for their recent loss of form. When their opponents are no longer having to second guess their tactics it makes it that little bit easier for them. Also there's no hiding places now for developing players with the new engine.

It seems unthinkable that one of the pioneers of the running game are on the brink of relegating, but I'm hoping if they do that it will only be a temporary absence.

Still a mathematically risk that I might relegate - everything is actually about my game against Seahawks and Rams. I did cut / sell some starters to save some money - playing here costs roughly 4 million a season if you have a decent Cup run, but hopefully, the engine will give me one or two more wins. Not expecting a win on Saturday. It would be bad for the Zealand / Funen relations and a bridge could be vandalized if I gave the TD to Weasels by upsetting the Swans, but I did upset Weasels once on home field and do feel obligated to make a mends...

Or just throw the dice and see how the randoness of the engine will go.

My points difference this season (without the Bigfoot games) is actually -34 which shows me that the rest of the TD teams need to become much worse next season if I am to stay here. I am looking at Weasels, Tipo and Swans to implode....

Close match that could have gone both ways, but honestly it was my turn to win - first time since season 23, I think.

Todays results guaranties, we both have some 'interesting' matches in front of us.

For me it is UL Vikings next, and the way they are performing right now, it could easily turn out rather bad for the Swans.

I'm wondering if there's a record for 2nd place finishes in the league.

Thank you for your kind comments. Although winning 2 doubles is good for bragging rights it's not good for the bank account. I reckon that I'm down about 8 mil compared to winning the trophies in different seasons due to two less AFLC participations. Cash of course is all important in the TD, winning trophies and good cup runs go along way in enabling in staying at the top level. Your trophy cabinet is impressive but I think your greatest achievement is staying in the TD for such a long time without getting the drop at some stage. You are so far in front of everyone else I doubt you will ever be caught or matched in continuous TD weeks.
I may have surprised a few teams with being first on the running band wagon but in reality my running game was not great and new RB's just were not be had on the market without a hefty price tag. I am always looking at player value and cuts had to be made. Right now the Hawks cannot stop the run no matter what orders I place. I have some great prospects and although I will be doing the upmost to stay up, going down will allow time to make the necessary adjustments and come back stronger.

As for the title race, Fionia are in the driving seat, but I'd be hesitant to give the fat lady her microphone just yet, as both them and my Weasels have two away games to play. Fionia are especially strong defensively, although why they chose this season to do well when they had a far better team in seasons 25 to 27 is one of those mysteries only the Grid-Iron gods could unravel. I wonder if its the young quarterback thing that Weasels benefitted from back in the days we were threatened by relegation.

Either way Fionia deserve some silverware, but I'm not going to relinquish the chase one milimetre. They have a win and some points to their advantage, but I'd quite like not to come second for a sixth time. The only thing that plays slightly to Weasels' advantage is that they face Bigfoot on the last game of the season. Bigfoot have started to look dangerous at home games though, so even that game can't be counted as a win before time.

At the other end, what is currently a sleepless scenario in Seattle may turn into some disturbed dormancy in Drusselstein if Miss Dimple's team get a win over them next week. We may even get Hyperactive in Hitchin if results go against them too.

I tell you what. If I can do you a favour on Saturday, you might do me a favour in the Cup Final? Deal?

No deal, but a massive set of results all round, which has blown the title race wide open. Even the points difference that looked unbeatable before today is back in play, having been reduced from a gap of 69 to 31. Our two recent signings have shored up our defence a little as well, so there's a lot of scope for a big push for the line.
