How many times USA have missed the WC final phase? I am quite sure that it is a rare event...

I made a research...

USA have not qualified for WC Group Stage (the final phase) only 2 times: WC 8 and WC 12. But on both they had positive records (5-3 and 4-2).

Another thing: they have not qualified for quarter finals only 5 times: WC 6, WC 8 (first phase), WC 9, WC 12 (first phase) and WC 13.

So, this is an really rare event...

In the beginning, it looked like 3 close matches, but Finland and Spain have gained a significant lead. Brazil and Hungary are neck and neck and Denmark are roling over Poland like they the Polish players... where like poles...

Edit: With 10 minutes left, the Hungarian mob has pulled away from the samba-strucken Brazilians... Spain holding on to a tight lead and the Scandinavians are marching to a common tune...

Only Germany have opted for a pass-heavy offense.
