I bet on Denmark, Spain and UK. And of course on Brazil

Thanks for the confidence boost, but with USA, Argentina and France, I see any of the four teams having a decent chance of getting into the finals.

Yes, good luck to your squad on Thursday and Friday

Yup... no need for luck to beat USA.

Do we play each other?

Yes... Now, go back to sleep...

Good win, not looking good for USA to advance this time around. Just dreadful passing stats from a superstar QB that certainly didn't help, but great win

To be honest, I have never paid attention to when it is held.

And the second round is over!

Group A

Switzerland and UK have finally made their debut on WC 24 final phase. The swiss team had a dominant game over the fragile mexican team. On the other hand, UK had a difficult time against Poland during the first half but finished quite well with a comfortable margin. Now everybody in this group is 1-1 and the winners of round 3 games will qualify to QF. I think Switzerland vs UK will be a thrilling game to watch.

Group B

In a surprising performance, Argentina made things really difficult for Denmark today. The game was decided only in the last quarter by a late danish TD. In the other match, France also made things a bit difficult for the american team but with a perfect balanced offense USA have won by a 21 point margin, eliminating the french team. In the 3rd round the second spot will be decided between Argentina (1-1) and USA (1-1) because Denmark has already qualified to QF.

Group C

I think this is the most exciting group of the WC (and it is not because it is my NT group). We had 2 thrilling games today decided by a small margin. Ireland and Russia went to OT after a great battle during regular time. The russian running game was not so effective today but the team was lucky to start with the ball on OT and achieved the 2nd win. Brazil and Germany was also a thrilling game with the brazilian guys pursuing the germans after a 14-0 first half. But Germany was more competent and won by 49-42. All teams stand a chance on the 3rd round and as everyone seems to be in the same level I must say that nothing will be decided until the last minute of the games.

Group D

Here we have another team qualified: Spain. In a battle of latin teams, the spanish guys showed why they are one of the favorite teams to the championship after beating Italy by 21 points. While that, in the battle of the nordics, Finland beat the (bot) swedish team. Now Italy and Finland will decide who will get to QF in another highly expected match. And I need to ask you all: how a bot team can score so many points?!

Good luck to everybody!

They were only BOT on defence.

Happy to be through to the QF with Denmark. I see no real dominant teams yet - should make for some interesting QF's. Now - as I remember, A1 plays B2 and A2 plays B1... If UK or CH win in their match, they could surpass the loosing team in the other match, but CH needs a miracle and UK need to close the 15 point gap if Mexico looses and a wooping 57 point gap to Poland. Poland can afford to loose (marginally) and still qualify. But whom should DK meet?

Win and we have an option of Mexico or UK. Loose the game and give the 1st place to Argentina if they win and then face Poland or Mexico...

Decisions and since there is no ethical rules regarding dropping games, things could be interesting...

Sorry my friend but you forgot that everybody in this group is 1-1. So, the defeated teams in the last round will be eliminated. A simple win by 1 point and the team will qualify to QF.

Actually, I think that Mexico is not good enough to beat Poland. So Poland must end as A1 due to point difference. A2 will be either UK or Switzerland depending on the winner tomorrow.

True. I had not taking the points from today into account. Must be the effect of a 60 hour work week until now...
