So, I can find a way to train everything else but these three categories. Are they truly locked? If so, that makes a big difference in acquiring players. A player category who needs one of those skills must start with it.

Yes, they are locked and can not be trained or increased in any way. Same for Aggression, but I don't think it's being used anyway.
