Hoping someone can give me a bit of a guide here - I'm still trying to figure out the value of position rating vs key skills for a position.
For example (ignoring talent and just thinking about playing the next game) - hypothetically which of these two players would you rather play at guard:
A. 4.5 star OL position rating; 12 strength; 12 speed; 4 blocking; 4 agility; 15 consistency
B. 2.5 star OL position rating; 18 strength; 13 speed; 7 blocking; 7 agility; 15 consistency

Looking at your next opponent (no offence to him) but it really shouldn't matter which you choose. If the 2.5* you mentioned (B) is his current position rating and not talent (and he can improve on this) then I'd use him for his strength and blocking advantages and give him some game time to get him trained up.

Thanks for your reply
Sorry my description wasn't very clear - I don't actually mean for my next game, but just in general in terms of not thinking about the future but just right here right now, would you usually take higher position-relevant skills over a higher position rating for your next game?
Thanks

id train both players to max speed and strength, wont boost wages like other skills.then comparing the two the 4.5 talent should improve key skills to higher level than 2.5 talent.but at moment lower talent guy has edge cos of strength and blocking skills.
If I need to win the next game, I'd use the 4.5* OL. The strength is a big difference, but those extra 2 stars make a big difference as well. If they were closer in rating, say only a 1 star difference, I'd be more likely to go with the 18 str guy. Though, to be honest, I'm not sure which would actually be the better option in that case.
Otherwise, as already mentioned, I'd play the 18 str guy and train his position rating up as quick as I could while training str in the 12 str guy to see which one would be best long term.
