whats the best plan?
bring them all up together in on big swoop?
one or a couple at a time?

it seems if i want to upgrade 1 i have to rehire all at the same level and give them all a signing bonus....
i want to raise up defending and fitness 1st then work on the rest later but with the 10 week salary deduction from my acct, i was curious what i should be careful of

From memory, upgrading all to 20 at once (except 20 kicking is optional) is the way to go.

It's definitely cheaper to buy them in as few a groups as possible. Yes, each time you add to the coaching staff, you are essentially firing your old staff and rehiring a completely new staff meaning you have to pay again for the same coaches you already had.
However, if you know you won't use a specific coaching area for a couple of seasons, there's no sense in paying their weekly salary for that time either.
If I were starting over, I would buy fitness coaches as soon as I was able and around the same time as I built and maxed my fitness center. After a couple of seasons of maxing physicals and raising stamina, when I get to the point that I need to start training other areas, I would buy all coaches to max (some recommend not raising kicking or raising kicking only about half, choice is yours) as I built and maxed the training hall.

The good news on the tens times salary... you need it to buy the coaches, but you don't actually spend it. It's suppose to be a safety valve to prove you are financially stable enough to afford the coaches.

When I went into rebuild mode a few years ago, I had built up enough money that when I built my fitness center, I waited until it was finished, then hired my fitness coaches, then used the money (much of the 10 times salary) to max out the fitness center. Did the same when I built training hall and maxed all coaches. So you don't lose the 10 weeks salary that you have to have. You just lose the signing bonus.

Bingo! As already stated, coaches should be bought just twice. First time is just max fitness coach, 2nd time is when you max all coaches (I recommend 10 for kicking coach, this saves a little bit of money and you don't really need the 20 for kicking. That player only needs to train those 2 skills, so easily trained up with 10 coaching).
