Upgrading stadium timing

Is it possible to cut the time to upgrade the stadium from 15 days to 14 days? I might have read that it was possible if I do it some time near the construction update time but I forgot if it was before/after

You can't shorten the time frame. However, you can reduce your stadium maintenance if you start the build between :30 and 4:00 GI Time on Wednesday (The 3.5 hour period between construction update and the financial update). If there are any other tricks or secrets involving the stadium, either I can't think of them at the moment, or I don't know them. Hope this helps.

Is it BEFORE or AFTER 00:30 to get the benefit? I've read both on here. Can't get my head round this one!

Construction update happens at 00:30 each day. So regardless of when you start the build, each time after that, when the GI clock hits 00:30, it will count as one day.
If you start the build AFTER 00:30 on Wednesday, but before the financial update, you will not have to pay maintenance on the parts of the stadium being worked on. You won't have to pay on the next financial update of course since you'll only be about half way through the construction. And you won't have to pay on the third financial update because the construction won't be finished until 00:30 Thursday.

If you start the construction BEFORE 00:30 on Wednesday, it will finish at 00:30 Wednesday two weeks later which will be before the financial update in which case you will pay maintenance on your newly finished seats. That first 00:30 will count as a full day, even if you start build just a few minutes beforehand.

Which looking back now, may be what the OP was talking about in regards to taking a day off the build. However, in my opinion, saving the maintenance fee for an extra week is far more useful than getting the stadium built one day earlier when all the games are bunched together around the weekend. There's plenty of time between game periods to get the stadium finished and saving one day out of two weeks isn't going to make a difference.
