New player question - should I sell my 4, 4.5 and 5 talent players

Brand new to the game from a couple of days ago.
Read that new teams are meant to be bad, challenge is to make them better.
I have seven players on my initially created team roster that are 4* talent or higher...should I look to sell those players in the transfer market to make some money? I've read that for the first little while that should be the main focus, make $ and build a team for a couple seasons down the road type thing.
To complicate things a bit, three of the 4* talent players are aged 17 or 18, would I be best off keeping those guys for awhile anyways...see how much they can develop?

Sell if they are marketable. Every buck you profit will make your build much faster.

Exactly. Now to elaborate:
In this situation only selling 4.5* and 5* is ideal in my opinion. Marketable (arguably) means high intelligence and/or high consistency (maybe coupled with teamwork, but it's less important). And overall, the younger, the better. I can give you my example, since it's only 6 months ago.

When I started, I had 2 4.5* players: age 18 and 21. And a 3.5* talent of age 19 and 2 4* players of age 23 and 30. In the first weeks, I pulled a 4.5* talent age 17. (Yes, I know, I was lucky)

The players with 4.5*:
Age 18: 20 INT - 17 CON - 10 TW
Age 17: 19 INT - 16 CON - 19 TW --> sold for 3.225.000
Age 21: 16 INT - 7 CON - 8 TW --> sold for 100.000

I kept the first one, because I received a lot of money for the youth pull. Otherwise, I was tempted to sell him as well. Now, he's physicals are capped, so his value is down. He won't be a good MLB, but he will be a good QB.

In this case, the 100k sale did not affect me much in comparison with 3M, so maybe I could've kept him.

I don't know how your situation is, and I don't need to know. But understand that not every 4.5* is worth big money. If you're not sure, you could ask on the forums. Or put a player for a optimistic estimate like 1M on the market. This costs only 2.5k.

Now, Is losing your most talented player worth it? you may ask.

This, again, is arguable. In my case, the sell skipped 17 weeks of playtime to build all VIP seats. After 1 season (20 weeks) I got 7M ticket revenue instead of 2.7M without the sell. So technically, I could buy the same kind of player back (I wanted to) in the same season.

This is a special case but I would say that anything above 100-200k is a no brainer to sell. It will reward you in the longterm 3.5*, 4* and weak 4.5* are below that 100k threshold, and should be kept in the team in my opinion.

But please, do make your own choice. You are the manager!

PS: yes, I like numbers gotta do something when you can't do much in the beginning.

I know a lot of managers see it like this, and who am I to complain - every sale is a chance to secure some new blood to my own team.

But in my oppinion this game is not about building fast.
It is about reaching your TD - and win it.
I would never sell any young talent that could help me secure a title later on.

When I won TD with my first team, TE Tønnesen was the cornerstone of my gameplan.
He is a YP from the early days with Fionia.

He is 5* talent and his Int/Con is 18/19, so he could have earned quite a few seats.
But then - who should have scored his 54 TDs back in season 28.

I understand that. There's arguments to be made for both parties. It is ultimately the choice of the manager, like I said. I'm glad that I did it this way, but I'm also glad that someone with an other opinion spoke here as well.

Is winning a title in TD that dependent on 1 player? I would suppose that a strong team beats a super player. In that sense, building training facilities faster en making a stable economy to handle more salaries look more productive to me. Also, did that player not hinder from the slow training at the start?
