This game Warpigs vs Cardsharks is yet another example of how poor this game engine is.

Warsaw played with 0 CB's and the Cardsharks played with a full passing attack. Somehow, instead of WR's running wide open, the passing attack was shut down?

Give me a break. Bunch of garbage.

Might as well just play random formations since it apparently doesn't matter to the game engine.

More evidence of the game engine just taking your formation and defaulting players to zones on each down. Surprising result, but in the end the game engine uses any legal formation and then it comes down to rolling the dice for each play. Home field probably helped some too, then a few plays/rolls and you get the lopsided result

Absolutely agree. Random zones and random rolls of the dice. Pretty much nullifies any real strategy in this game when your opponent is allowed to play without actually filling out normal football positions and the game defaults it for them.

Want to point out that I am not calling out Warsaw, but am simply pointing out the nonsense of this game engine.

Agree the engine sucks dude, As Gatr pointed out the engine just takes a couple of players and puts them in the zone to defend the pass when there is no cb. Its BS. Anyhow Warpigs are strong and will prob finish 9-0 at home so its not all bad dude.

I agree. He absolutely deserved the win. I have no problem with his victory. He has a strong squad!
I just wanted to point out how terrible this game engine is. I think it is important to show new players to G-I, that normal football formations and strategies don't really matter much in this game. This is a perfect example of that.

Should be well known that you don't need cb's (run or pass). You need one safety to prevent a rb from running long runs for TD'S. Had my orders to defend against the pass. file:///C:/Users/oz/Desktop/screenshot%20orders.jpg

Home field has ruined the game, it sucks.

As I mentioned above, this is nothing against your team. I am simply pointing out another example of how much garbage this game engine is.

You are correct that in this game, you don't need to have a CB. It is a "legal" formation in Grid-Iron to have no CB's on the field. That is the problem.

Grid-Iron promotes itself on its homepage as an "American Football simulation game". It is not. As we all know, it is a collection of random numbers, random zones, and random rolls of the dice. It is only loosely based on American Football. This is just another example of that. There is no viable defensive formation in American Football that does not have CB's on the field. Allowing coaches to input lineups without key positions on the field allows managers to manipulate the game.

You would think that a game that is practically begging people to sign up for "Ultimate Supporter" would try to fix some of these shortcomings.....nope. It's easy to see why this "American Football" game does not have more American players.

But you are right.....Now that they have turned up the homefield advantage parameters, it feels like they have made things even worse.... much worse.

In the NA TD there have been a grand total of 2 road wins through the 1st 4 weeks of the season. The road team is 2-18 with most of the games being ridiculously lopsided. There is something wrong with this.

Visions of your wide receivers standing in about an acre of empty space, screaming for the ball, and the QB just ignoring them and throwing to the TE for the 18th time in a row...

You have been playing this game since 2012! And... find out this thing only today? unbelievable
Many of the best managers play without cb, you can play without SF or without LBO too, it is up to the manager to find the best solutions based on the roster

No.
I didn’t just “find this out today”.
You missed the point of my original post.
The point was yet another example of how this is a terrible game engine and also how it is not really an “American Football simulation game”.

I put the point of the post in the title of the thread. Hahaha

I think it is important to point this stuff out when the game owners are in the middle of a campaign of trying to practically beg people to sign up for “Ultimate Supporter”. The game has had these problems since the beginning and they can’t even get the fundamentals of the sport of American football correct.
LOL
