Is there anyway to see how many games a player is a away from increasing their BPOS? Example John Doe is 2 games away from moving up half a star. I don't think there is but can't hurt to ask!

I believe there is no easy way.

What you can do is make a spreasheet, count the games played for every player and check if they have improved after a game It takes a bit of time, but it works.

Nevertheless, it always take 10 games to improve, at least we know that. So I can be less but can't be more than that

Oh, and the natural position is closer to the next BPOS rank than the adequate positions.

Thank you, that's a great idea about the Spreadsheet, I already have a pretty big spreadsheet so adding a column for games played wont be hard!

Keep in mind, the 10 games can be messed with if you switch the player's position in games.

A player can only have one position as BPOS and thus only one position can have the highest games played total. So if for example, a player has trained at a position and attains 4* at that position and it's his BPOS, then you immediately start training another position until he reaches 4* at that position, he will actually drop back to 3.5* at the previous position. Then if you alternate positions between the two, he will never reach 4.5* at either position because each time, the previous position will lose one game played. He will flop back and forth between 3.5* and 4* at both positions.

I hope that makes sense.

The moral is that you should train one position until you've reached the goal you want, then train at least one or two games more, then you can switch position training safely.

Do national games increase a player's positional rating, or is it only club matches?

This is great I did not know that! So basically playing a player on both sides of the ball will mean he will never reach 4.5 so it's best to just play one position?

If you play him on both sides in the same game, he only increases in the offensive side. It's when you switch back and forth that one position may take a step back. Note that the other positions do not always lose a point. The only time a position loses a point is if it's the BPOS and the new position played becomes the new BPOS.

As far as playing multiple positions in the same game, the point for games played goes pretty much in order that you set the orders.
offense, defense, kicker, gunner, kick returner, (ST)cornerback
A player can only gain points at one position per game. And it goes from left to right, the first position they are used at.

When I train position rating for a dual position player, I will try to train defense first, then once he's fully trained (with a few extra games after reaching max BPOS), I can play him on both sides of the ball and he'll continue to gain on offense while being fully effective on defense.

Hope that makes sense. Last edited on 2021-04-08 at 13:57

I'm pretty sure they do. I don't have my studies from that anymore, so I can't remember for absolute certain, but my memory tells me they do. Though, in most cases, the NT players would likely already be maxed at their main positions. If not, they probably shouldn't have been on the NT to begin with.

Last question:

If a player is a 4* talent, can they be a 4.5 BPOS for an offense and defense position? Obviously you have to play them at just defense and no offense to get them up, but just want to confirm they can be 4.5 at two different positions.

Thank you!

Yes, even 3 or four positions. As many as you care to train up, but given the slow gain in this game, I've never maxed out more than 3 positions for one player. As PHI said, make sure you play them several times after they max so that they maintain the max BPOS at each position.
