For what its worth....

The NT coaches application period opened in week 4 last season. Voting occurred in week 5. Coaches were announced in week 6. So we are now almost a month behind NT manager applications. The first matches of last seasons WC qualifying began in week 9 of the regular season and ended in the final week of the regular season.

After this weekend we will be entering week 8 of the regular season. We are nearly approaching the point last season when the first WC qualifying matches started. However, NT manager applications have not even started. The NT schedule is almost a month late.

The largest groups in the WC qualifying have 10 rounds/weeks of matches and the WC itself takes approximately 1 week. We are rapidly approaching territory where the WC will run into next season if it started today, unless the admins create some rapid match schedule.

Great update on the weeks. My thoughts where the same when I made the OP.

NT coaching is some of the (for me) funnest things as you play many managers that you normally don't meet (in the leagues) and gives any manager the option of playing with some of the best players in the game.

Unless something is done within the next week or so, we will truly know if the game is dead or not.

I think its game over, has been for a while now but as hoospack says even if they started the application process now for the NT managers, there is a 10 week requirement for some of the qualification groups and unless they change the format and have multiple games per week the World cup will run in to the regular season.

The lack of players also on the transfer market and the price folk are paying for players who are average (i seen a 30 year old player with 6 consistency sell for 3 million last week) is another sign the game is coming to an end sooner rather than later.

Also trying to use your youth players to build for the future is impossible when you average 2.5* of talent over an entire season. I have only been here for 7 years myself(nothing compared to some of the long timer) and its been fun but its now becoming a drag and not enjoyable any more.

They are behind in the WC, but it's not the first time this has happened. In the 24th WC, the games didn't start until the just before the 10th week of the league season. To make up the games, near the end of the first part of WC Qualifying matches, there were two games a week. Fridays and Tuesdays I believe.
So while it is behind and could be a bit troubling, it's not a lost cause just yet. Hopefully, they are reading this and get the ball rolling tomorrow.

There is a complete lack of anyone checking on the game from the admin side of things. I can't imagine running a business or having a product with paying customers that you don't check on from time-to-time. But I think that has been a lost cause for several years and has led to where we are now.

I think the most troubling part about this whole thing is something that I didn't even mention in my previous post. Before applications for NT managers can even begin, the old managers are removed and there is a 1-2 week period where there is no manager. That hasn't even happened yet either. Truly shows that something is broken and clearly isn't being fixed.

As PHI mentioned, I also recall a season where the NT schedule was a little late, but I recall it only being about 2 weeks late and not half a season late. I believe there were 2 WC qualifying games that got doubled up on Friday and Tuesday. It certainly wasn't to this magnitude.

In my opinion, if we go beyond this weekly financial update without this being fixed, then we are probably in a situation where the WC is dead for this season. As Bigbudsmoker mentioned, this is only 1 example of a wide range of problems plaguing this slowly decaying game.

I always believed this game is maintained by a single person and not a company.
Guess the guy just don't have the time anymore to care about the game, just leaving it running while it can (and until he doesn't lose money)

Are there restrictions for applying to become the NT head coach? Just attempted to and won't allow me to apply

No. First applications are for your own country. If some NT coach places are available after voting, you can apply by sending a message to the admins via 'Contact us'.

Still an up-hill battle to get all games done by week 20. They will need to play at least one week with 2 NT games (in the 5 team groups) in order to have the Final played during this season (before season turn-over on or around the 9th of May 2023). They could prolong the offseason for a week if needed. That has been seen before (not because of World Cup, but because of 'Updates to the game'

The schedule could look like this:

Applications: 7th of February
Voting starts: 14th of February
Voting ends: 21st of February
Call-Ups start: 21st of February
First game: 3rd of March
Sixth game (end for 4 team groups): 7th of April
Eight game (end for 5 team groups): 21th of April
World Cup start: 2nd of May
Quarter Finals: 6th of May
Semi Finals: 8th of May
Finals: 10th of May

We are currently in week 8. Last league game is on the 22nd of April and with the usual bye-week, the first game of season 41 would be on the 6th of May.
