It's more that a 3* talent has no useful future.

In the short term you may find a decent one that can help your team, but if you're lower leagues you'll win just as easily with weaker, higher talent players, who may have some future in them. Not many managers spend any time on training these players since there's little resell value.

You might as well gather 3.5* and 4*, which aren't expensive.

Yep, i am gathering 4 and 4.5 star players. Most of the players are 4 star already, just need to figure out where they are capped. I dont gather 3.5, but keep a youth pull with 3.5 talent. Or shall i get rid of 3.5 players too? The team will not break if i did. The dilemma is between those, and the 4 star players with 24-25 age. I wonder which shall i replace first. Middle aged 4 stars, or young 3.5 stars.

You are a long way from the top. So 3.5* players will work fine.

The only difference between a 3.5 and 4.0 star player is their ability to pass their soft caps. 3.5* guys go to 18 skill (soft cap +1) easily. 4.0* guys go to 19 skill easily.

Clear if you are training physicals still. This is not something you need to worry about for 5-6 seasons.

Well, i did not elect to go the normal suggested way. So i have a lot of 4 star talents already, and now building my fitness center. It will be fully upgraded by the end of the month. Then i plan to hire a 20 physical coach. So i start the physical training in a few weeks. Having the players that i want to train is priority now. So i do worry about that.

I have just read through the changes and its implications, and it looks like that talent got more valuable in contrast to physicals, as their totals cap at 35. I guess the 3.5 guys should go over time then.

I think the point the other poster is making is that players can't make up for a lack of talent with high physicals. Before 4.5* BPOS with 20, 20 physicals was as good as many 5* BPOS players. Now the 20, 20 physical players are weakened.

Obviously so are the 5* players with 20/20 physicals but they are rarer and I imagine there are plenty of 5* players around with less than 35 in speed and strength who just got a boost (more of the 4.5* BPOS players with low physicals would not have been making teams).

Weakened maybe just a tad. If you have a 3.5 or 4* player, let's say at LB, and he is 19/16 fitness with the BMI, that player will still pull 5* start and end game ratings quite often, assuming he has sufficient skills built up.

Another reason not to panic about talents.

It you don't train 16 and 17yo guys using a full fitness hall and 20 fitness coaches. They are not gonna have the skills required by age 27 to be div1 level. You really need to be finished physical by age 19, and started on main skills. Between 2 main skills and stamina, a player will go up 2 of each skill. So 7 to 17 takes 5 seasons for example. If said players are starting lower than 7, then even longer.

Once you have all the fitness related training add ons, then aim high for talents.

I personally like all my players physicals maxxed/sorted and main skills to 7 by their 19th bday, so they are ready by their 24/25th bday.

I have a player with the following attributes
Speed: 15 capped
Strength: 15, not capped
Consistency: 19
Intelligence: 4
Talent: 4.5
Based on his talent and his consistency i am pretty sure i need to plan long term for him. What do you think are the positions that most likely suit him?
