I've been thinking of selling some guys but I honestly have no idea what they are worth! The prices have been so wacky all season, I don't even know what the basic pricing of a player should.

I created this thread to informally come up with a vague price guide for prospective market customers and vendors. I'd like to get some opinioins on what eahc one of you would be willing to pay for specific builds of players. Keep in mind these are theoretical builds and not necessarily anything that I would put on the market.

First on the table a few of the less complicated players:

Punter
18y.o.
3.5* talent
16 Punting
1* Experience
16 TW, 5 Cons.

Kicker - Same as above except kicking instead of punting
18y.o.
3.5* talent
16 Kicking
1* Experience
16 TW, 5 Cons.

Kicker/Punter (this one is mine though I'd never sell him)
20y.o.
3.5* Talent
18 Kicking (meaning cap+1)
18 Punting (meaning cap+1)
5* Experience
12 TW, 7 Cons.

Thoughts? What would you pay for these guys? I've found that the kicker/punter combo is much more valuable than the other two combined due to a decrease in wage. In addition, at the current stage in the game, a punter with 18 punting will get you on average 8 more yards of field position per punt exchange. But if you don't have a kicker/punter, would the punter or kicker alone be worth more to you? Would either be worth 300k? I personally think the combo player is worth at least 500k starting but just how high would you go?

If I get enough responses I'll try to develop a price per point estimate of players with talent etc. taken into account.

This is simply a personal view, and I'm sure others might disagree. But I can buy a guy with 6 punting, 6 kicking, 5+ Consistency, and 3.5* of talent just about every week on the transfer market for 10-30k. If I remember correctly, a kicker, training solely their kicking stats, can gain about 9 skill points per season in kicking and punting(combined). Assuming it takes 25 training sessions to convert my newly acquired kicker to one of the caliber of either player A or B, it would have cost me about 40k in wages his first season, and 120k or so in wages for the weeks in his second season. If I payed 25k, this brings his total cost to 185k.

That being said, I would never want a kicker or punter of mine to be below 10 consistency, let alone 5. If I'm gonna train a player like that up, he's gonna have 17+ Consistency.

I'd say it's fair to say though that because there are just so many kickers, and it's easily the fastest trained stat, that a kicker of the caliber of Players A and B shouldn't sell for over 100k. My current kicker, who has 7 kicking, 10 punting, and very, very high physicals(if they even matter), cost me only 9k. Yes, he is 27. Yes, he only has 4* BPOS. But he'll start for me for three more seasons, and then I can get another one if I don't keep the one I'm training up in the mean time.

Prices will always vary week to week, depending on demand imo. You can put a good player up one week, and get nowhere nothing you were hoping for. Then put a mediocre player up next week, and get double what he's worth? All depends what teams need at any given time.

I always say that players price is depending on your current roster.

IF I wouldn't have good kicker/punter, I would be able to pay about 2 millions for your guy(3 millions if his max BPOS could be 5* and consistency would be 16+). But when I have my kicker/punter, I would never buy your guy, because it would be against my salary cap.

I wouldn't pay anything for any of them. No offense, but all my kickers have 19 or 20 consistency. Also, as TFS mentioned, they are the easiest to train up their primary skill and they are a dime a dozen on the transfer market. The players you mentioned were either 5 or 7 on consistency making them worth next to nothing for me. That is just for me though. I know others that don't think consistency is important for this position. One thing is for certain, the market is free and open to all so the prices vary all over the board. The only obvious thing on the market is that 20 intel and 20 consistency will bring you a lot of attention no matter what the position

Alright so the consensus is that kickers and punters and combos of the two aren't worth squat. That makes sense to me as well.

I'm not sure what the obsession with consistency is since it has no effect on the average play of a player but I can understand where you are coming from. Personally I could give a crap about consistency. It has no effect on kickoff and punt yardage in my data and field goals don't really mean anything. If I'm kicking field goals, I'm already losing the game. I value kickers and more for their ability to change field position than anything. That being said, if you have a great team, you should be able to win without one. I trained one heavily to make a difference in close matchups but it turns out those are a crapshoot too with both teams putting up 20+ points and field position being completely negligible especially since heavy passing has taken over.

Any thoughts on the next position you guys would like to see? I was thinking QB but I'm open to suggestions.

Consistency on the kicker is only for winning very close games. You never want to miss a field goal that you should have a near unmissable % chance to hit.
