First-up loss to the Czech Republic in the new international season, but it was desperately close - they only beat us 20-14 in overtime.

Aw man, Denmark beat us 27-21. Just can't catch a break in those games that go into extra time, it seems!

Sigh - another really close loss. Turkey edged us 42-35.

At least this wasn't another extra-time heartbreaker, but I do wish we could find a way to win these close games!

Your chances of getting to the WC looks interesting.

You will need a victory over us and having us defeat the Czech side. That way, you and the Czech will both end 5-3 and then it is points difference. Close call, but on points, you should progress.

And in all fairness, we will bring our A-team to all matches.

Well, we thumped Ukraine 56-17 and you guys beat the Czechs - thanks.

It was pretty close between us last time, so hopefully we can give a good account of ourselves again and maybe even threaten an upset.

We beat the USA once, so you never know!

It will be a good match on Friday!

As I posted on the NT forum, you have the advantage of the time. I need to get on the PC early (before 06:30 AM) to check for injuries. Hopefully none, but I will set my alarm clock a shy 30 minutes earlier than normal to make sure all is fair.

Congratulations to you.

We gave a pretty good account of ourselves, though. Both the NZ-Denmark games were fairly close.

Your WC campaign just looks like the kid who always picks the shortest straw...

Close losses to DK and Czech plus a surprise loss to Turkey. No doubt you have the material. Just need the luck or consistency to get through the needle's eye.
