I'm open to any explanations on how the game could have turned so completely. I don't think my players have low stamina but I can't see any other likely reason?

And the Skinks get there revenge. Bucs and Skinks played a close match. Scores were never more than 7 points difference. Lead changed multiple times.

Wolverines get a lucky win. The Slappers punted early in the 4th when they were 6 yards from the endzone on 4th. A fieldgoal would've seen them win the match.

Gozillas win a close one, at one stage they were 28 points up.

I knew that unless I lost by about 150 pts would still be on top regardless of result, so experimented with strategy. I know what happenned and have no concerns

2 games is a couple, not a few...

With all due respect - not for a manager of another squad to suggest what "wasn't a great idea". I was and still remain comfortable with the decision I took. My experiment needed to be tried against a side that potentially could win before the kick off as I would have gauged nothing from trying against a side that would have likely lost to me under any strategy.

As for the points difference, well if Skinks can outscore me by 75 points in final 4 rounds then deserves to have the Cup. My focus is not on the Divisional Title.
