Week 1!
I've decided to start a new thread, fresh and clean.

Same thing as the start of last season my opinion on the top teams for the title .

1. Ruby Rain Wolves – After a consecutive 7th place finish the wolves got back to winning and finished 2nd last season. They are a well set up team with out too many great players but more importantly they lack weak positions on the team. Any finish outside of the top 2 and they have underperformed.

2.Fighters de Paris - Maybe the best team in the division for the 2nd half of last season. Very good Qb throwing to a dangerous WR. Their defence is decent and will keep them in games another team which anything other than contending is under achieving.

3.Amity Islanders- On paper maybe the most talented team in the division. Everything is in place to push for promotion. Would place them higher but the team’s ends up shooting for mediocrity and playing well below their potential both seasons they have been in the division.

4. Grigori Freemen- When playing up to potential contenders but too often inconsistent dents their title chances. Good offence but a mediocre defence will mean the Freeman need to put up a lot of points to win games.

5.Les Renards - Same story as the Islanders a really talented team with a lot of cash invested into the team. Too much inconistencey in their past teams make it hard to rank them high. They played to their potential at the start of the last campign winning all their opening 4 games but fell to mid table.

6. The Arnolphy's Wild Boars- Similar to the fighters started slow but looked good once settled. The team is built around franchise developed youth products. The first team lacks any major talents which could make the difference in a title hunt. Lack of depth at any offensive position makes injuries still an issue. Despite that last season they proved to be a good team on their day and a likely survivor of the relegation battle.

7.White Sheep - Out of all the newly promoted teams this team looks like the one wichi is the safest team from relegation. They won a closely contended division and appear to be building their team the right way. Lack of top level talent gives them a limited upside for what they will likely achieve but they should be a decent team in the short term.

8. Jyvaskylan Voitto - High talent franchise with fatigue being common problem with their players. This team has the better chance of pushing for promotion out of the two promoted teams but also the bigger chance to be relegated if they don’t play up to their potential .

2 surprises for the first matches! (at least by the scores)

Amity Islanders and Fighters de Paris showed their strength!

Definitely off to a good start - I've just got to try and keep it going!

The win against the Wolves was huge for my team

Big game coming up Fighters @ Wolves

Wolves lose it is going to be tough catching up to the currently undefeated teams. The Wolves win they are just one game behind the top team (s) and keeping them in contention.

Beyond that week 3 of Div IV5 football looks pretty uneventful

I have to say I'm very concerned for my team this season. That loss against the Islanders was tough and I don't think I can beat the Fighters. I guessed my offense would be enough this season but it seems it's not so talented.

Anyway, good luck to everyone! (you too Rg223 )

Hi everybody...
nice win for me yesterday... offense doing well but I will need to diversify passing game and not rely on I player only... My surprise was my defense juste allowing 7 points. Hope to continue that way against Amity soon.
Cheers

Well done Olive since the mid way point of last season you have been a great team. Beating the Wolves is no easy task and doing it in such a convincing way is impressive. Same for the Islanders week 1.

Kamitsu with not much separating the top teams you can hope they beat each other and gives you a chance to catch up. If not still a good opportunity to build up your stadium and play some youth players in the league games then work on being stronger next season.

No bot gamesthis week. The Voitto look a pretty good offensive unit so could be tough for the Islanders. Freeman get a tougher test after two bot games plus one mid table team and the Fighters have a game against the talented but struggling Les Renards.

Another great week of football for Div IV 5 (this division needs a nickname for next season)

thanks RG, we surely need a nickname for next season ... but we should have get one last year also.
As you say next week should be interesting, I would see Islanders havning no problem beatin Voitto and a nie game to follow will be Freemen against Wolves.
RG you're doing quite well in d III.. congratulations !

I think the next two games will be critical for me this season as I play both of the other currently undefeated teams.

As has been said many times before, this is a tough division and this season is no different.

I will have my fingers (and toes) crossed on saturday against the fighters.

Good luck for saturday. I think the Islanders are ahead and that you should win this one. Will try to keep it close and will also cross fingers and toes on the beach as I'm going on holidays for 1 week
