I agree... I don't like to pay too much for Gunners, because I've never seen a big return on a punt. I see kickoff returns like this often enough though:

Kickoff
Palmer Sheehy performs the kickoff. He kicks the ball for 64 yards. Harris Percival returns for 42 yards and is tackled by Tad Killion. The offense will start on 52 yards from the end zone.

Now that I think about, maybe cheap gunners are why I give up some big kickoff returns.

Maybe if I run them up to 18 skill, they will return one all the way

I wonder if someone had two gunners, each at 20 skill for everything they need, and the other teams KR's only had 9 or 10 skill, if the returns would be very short every time?
