Rules - "almost" advertising Aussie players in here

Under community rules it states the following -

"It is not allowed to make advertisements for players on transfer list, not in forum messages, and not in signatures. You need to use the transfer ads section for this."

What I am interested in doing is putting up data on Aussie players here in our NT forum that I might be interested in selling. That way if I see there are other managers interested in picking them up then I could put them on the market. The idea, of course, being to keep as much Aussie talent under Aussie manager control as possible.

It would seem that since they would not be on the TM at this time that this might be allowed. Anyone have any previous dealings with this sort of thing. We could simply have a dedicated thread for this and use it all the time.

Fine - no rulebreaking here... as long as the players you are listing data from (skills / talent etc.) are your own players.

Not allowed and will be removed. Yes, some countries have threads in their forums, but these are non-English speaking countries.

Any form of advertisement would be banned. Whether they are on the transfer market or not.

Thanks for the quick reply, but I'm confused.

If I post data on one of my players and someone expresses interest, and I then place the player on the TM, is that OK?

What if I "mysteriously" posted data on a player without reason and someone said "awe, I'd really love to have that player on my roster"? I am then in trouble if the player went on the TM?

It seems a lot of this could be done by PM anyway - just save a lot of of mucking about.

Seems like a very grey area.

Reading through your opening post it just sounds like a thread for stealth ads. The fact that you've even labelled it as a thread for giving people advanced warning on players you want to sell I don't see it being allowed by any of the mods

This is very grey though - it seems that if you post one of your player's data for reasons CLEARLY NOT related to a sale then that's OK. But not OK if you're clearly seeking a sale. I think there is a lot of grey in between.

Anyway, it seems the basic answer to my question is NO!

Maybe it should be a suggestion to have adverts within each NT's forum - but I think we all know the chances of anything like that happening. Mind you, we did get the big "Agression" tweak a season ago so......................

No, no Hosh.

We just need to advertise in a different language! Can I suggest New Zealander? I can hardly understand them sometimes, it must be a different language.

Yes, there's been a disturbing spate of stealth ads recently.

Hats off to Sredna for enforcing the rules.

I guess the only reason we're even allowed to post data on our own players is for the sake of YP bragging/whinging threads or just simple discussion about GI.

I guess a sort of unofficial rule is that if you post data and then sell, that that's a no no. With the probable only exception that you brag in the YP thread and then sell.

This I find is probably unfair to english speaking managers.

I can go to the Italian fourms, read that a player has talento = 4.5*, and figure out the player has 4.5 in talent.

Seriously, it's a joke they are allowed to advertise on the forums and we are not. you even get non-english adverts in the advert section. So it seems if you speak english, you have unfairly less avenues to persue advertising.

So go up to the OP ideas of keeping national players inhouse. We cannot let other managers know we are attempting to sell our own national players.

But if you were from a non english speaking nation, then it would be deemed fine.
