All games in my cup range from about $90,000 to about $160,000.

85,000 stadium = 94,310 each per team in freindly matches with 13,500 attendence.

I don't ever recall getting 94K for a friendly at my stadium, maybe 1/2 that. I don't like it when I have to take a friendly at home and I think those numbers at the 85K stadium are off a bit

These numbers look about right, based on my understanding of how the seats are allocated. Assuming 13500 attendance at a stadium with 85000 seats broken down as 3500 VIP (4.1%), 9000 executive (10.6%) and 72500 ordinary (85.3%), you should sell approximately:

556 VIP @ $55 = $30580
1429 EXE @ $30 = $42870
11515 ORD @ $10 = $115150

Which amounts to total revenues of $188600, or $94300 each. Unless my math or my knowledge of ticket sales is wrong, of course...

Okay, maybe a better way to address it is that if you only draw 9500 fans, then you can both expect about 65k for the week. Since 13.5k is not the norm for friendlies

Sure, the assumption regarding total attendance was inherited from the previous post. With the more realistic benchmark of 9500, those numbers become approximately:

13500 seats -> $166250
32000 seats -> $97600
85000 seats -> $66360

So yeah, around $65k, which I can see could be a big enough loss of revenue to put you off.

To further illustrate and using just the average ticket price/2 for friendlies, a stadium of my size (81,850) will net $14.14 per fan attending the game. Therefore, here are the expected incomes and then divided by 2 to get my share:

9K fans = $127,260/2 = $63,630 each
9.5K fans = $134,330/2 = $67,165 each
10K fans = $141,400/2 = $70,700 each
10.5K fans = $148,470/2 = $74,235 each
11K fans = $155,540/2 = $77,770 each
11.5K fans = $162,610/2 = $81,305 each
12K fans = $169,680/2 = $84,840 each

This is certainly the normal range for friendlies and even a bit higher than normal really. It's a losing proposition, but better than nothing to have friendlies at my stadium

This is of course what I was getting at. If I played a very good team each week and I was able to stay with good form, then I could expect to be around 13-14K fans, but when you are in friendly cups, there is no guarantee of who you have to play. I would prefer to do as most do and go around and find 13.5K stadiums properly filled with vips and execs. Those are very nice, upwards of 200k per team, if i remember correctly

Absolutely. If filled, a 13500 seat stadium would net $236250 per team. I'm certainly not trying to argue that $94300 is more than $236250...

You were correct on all your comments, just the original numbers were not realistic for the bigger stadiums to expect even 94K from home friendlies on average, unless they have a great record and play only high ranking TD teams

OK, not as bad as I suggested. Here's the numbers -

Stadium Size / Attendance / $

132500 13500 $84,693
100000 13500 $90,281
80000 13500 $95,977
60000 13500 $105,469
40000 13500 $124,453
30000 13500 $143,438
20000 13500 $181,406
15000 13500 $219,375
13500 13500 $236,250
13500 12500 $218,750
13500 11500 $201,250
13500 10500 $183,750
13500 9500 $166,250

So I'd be down approx 140k per week * 19 = $2.66M

Still a fair chunk of cash! Last edited on 2014-09-23 at 21:43
