Still no where near as close as the season 16 Cup Final

Congrats to both guys. The not so newcomer and the veteran rebuilding team both making it to the final and putting on a good show.

So been here about 3 years, worked out a ton of stuff but only just yesterday realised that by selecting a season in the league table you can actually always view past cups as well! I thought it was always just the past season!

So first time for 3 seasons it wasn't a Cats/Jinx final and first final since S14 that the Cats weren't a part of!

Always the bridesmaid.

I'm good at loosing IB finals also.

Played one WC final also. Lost that too.

Actually, WC performances is another thing to throw into that HOF thread next time I get the urge.

Just so you know, both those teams in the S14 cup final are actually project and I also (old club names, clicking on them should redirect you to our teams).

In that final project was unfortunately also on the wrong end of the result

I see that daudy has just cut both of his starting CBs from last season!

I just remembered that Rey was a stam 20 player and also he played the entire season for the Jinx.

Here's what happened as far as start-end rating went on him -

vs Cats - a normal and an increase
vs Convicts - an increase and a normal
vs Kamikaze - 2 normals
vs barbarians - norm, drop
vs Crushers - 2 normals
vs trons - drop but never winged that side, increase
vs Hunters - 2 drops (ffs)
vs pigs - 2 norm
vs moths - norm, increase

In the AFLC -
drops vs Knights and Chongs - big deal
drop vs Hogs. WR on that side lit you up but not enough.
drop vs Grizzlys but he passed to the other side

Cup vs Cats - drop and you lost because of it

So it cost you a chance in the Cup, but shit you were lucky elsewhere!

Pretty interesting that he dropped 50% of the time in AFLC and only 22% in league.

Just went through the rest of the Jinx Cup games and see that he only played in 1 of those vs Blood Army and had another stam 20 moment vs another easy opponent!

Anyway, for the season -

League - 4/18
AFLC - 4/8
Cup - 2/2

So 10/28 = 36% for the season

So it seems the stam 20 bug will hit you, on average, in about one third of games. This is with 1 player on the team - wonder if it's different with more players.

Both CBs were 30 and both decided to retire, so I saved on some wages by cutting early. But I knew that was coming anyway. I'll miss Robert Claassen though. He's been with my team for years! I started taking screenshots of players I retire and keeping them in a folder, and at the time of cutting him, he had been on my team for 225 weeks!

RE: CB 20 stam, I think a lot of it was also being covered by other personnel in defending (much like if others had bad consistency rolls) - it's hardly him having a bad game and then suddenly being able to walk all over the defence. Also, who is to say this bug is a coinflip, it could very much be something that doesn't happen all that often (or I did get lucky because it might happen to everybody more regularly). The bug hitting definitely never means you auto win against, and it, as far as I can see, isn't necessarily 50/50. Subsequently, it's pretty cool to see you going and tabulating his figures to see maybe what frequency it does hit

EDIT: THe other thing is, I notice you count the results against the Hunters as drops. I'm not so sure about that either, as match ratings can be extra funny in stomps. The 2nd game in particular, although not really a massive stomp, saw 1* drops for HEAPS of players - similar to what you'd see against bot lineups. The first game strangely enough (49-0) didn't really see similar. Could this be a case of drop during a game that should have seen relax mode, and then relax mode being funny and kicking in during a closer game?Last edited on 2015-08-22 at 3:24

Agreed. You will have the occasional strange loss due to 20 stamina, but losses are not guaranteed.
