Lets stay on topic in order that this thread isn't locked. Would be a shame for those who want to discuss this phenom.

If Murray goes down, we all know he will be the biggest mover on the waiver wire for that week. If Murray doesn't go down, it will be the first season in as many as I can remember that he didn't and good for Murray if that is the case. Always liked him, minus the injuries

Good thing we're all getting something out of this thread, eh?

Kind of like you resorting to insults to make yourself feel better.......eh? I mean, my learning to read is really an issue already! My posting of stats, that appear to be poorly related screamed to you, 'I NEED TO ANSWER THIS INSANITY AND QUESTION HIS READING ABILITY, NOW!!!' Versus a more measurable response regarding this ridiculous thread to begin with. Get some more fun in your life and stop it with the poorly veiled insults that obviously have no merit. I would also suggest this is just another thread that should be closed, but I will let another moderator do that, so as not to appear biased in any way. Tick, tock...

Now then, Derrick Henry is the topic, try to stay on point

(post edited, not on topic. Next post off topic will be closing this thread)

And seeing as there's a need to stay on topic; Derrick Henry plays for the Titans.Last edited on 2016-11-16 at 19:46

If any starting player gets injured their backup is pretty much always the biggest waiver wire move; that isn't an indication of the capabilities of that player, it just alludes to a higher availability of chances to score points.

I agree with your overall rhetoric though which BSwagger also mentioned on the last page; he will (should?) be good as his career continues but it all depends how he progresses as a player and a person. Bama always have great RBs in the NCAA because they have a dominant OL; they don't always progress as well once in the NFL, Trent Richardson is a prime example of that and Eddy Lacy is getting a bit like that now if he doesn't catch himself slipping. Yeldon is OK, Ingram has been around longer and has therefore had a better career, but that could also be due to the team he ended up playing for.

Well, while obviously playing second string to Murray doesnt help it's also relevant that his performance isnt good enough to let him take some carries from a player who NOW everybody remembers as great but 6 months ago was a half bust shipped from the Eagles for a 4th rounder. And I'm not a Titans insider but I'm pretty sure when you are a rebuilding team you want you 2nd round pick to contribute some.

Football outsiders advanced stats are sometimes of byzantine complexity but pit him as somewhat of a totally average player, which in the end I think is what he is. He will run what is blocked (and he is in a great position from that standpoint because Titans OL is roadgrading), has some speed given the size, can run from the shotgun but will never be a top 10 back in the league. Maybe top 20 is his ceiling, but needs worldclass blocking. I didnt see a truly remarkable run from him, I have seen him just running straight. His possible best play, the TD with the JAgs when he outrun two DB to the cone, stems from a bad read. EVen in that game where he had some success spelling Murray was then ineffective when he was tasked with running out the clock.

An Off Topic note: dont feed the troll. He just wants to force someone to lock this topic. Just dont answer to instigations.

That is a pretty harsh assessment of Murray. Considering he went for 1800+ yards in 2014, then took a huge paycheck and didn't fit in a Chip Kelly's downhill trending Eagles team of the time, his numbers dropped. Most players stats dropped that year as nothing worked for the Eagles that season. Their win-loss ratio showed that. But only getting a fourth rounder wasn't cos he was a bust, it was cos the Eagles eagerly wanted to trade away his huge paycheck and took less than he was really worth. Total steal for the Titans now.

---

Henry's numbers aren't great. I would have expected better. They aren't poor either. They are just middle range and the expectation of being a 2nd rounder meant they should be better. His catching is better than expected, but then his ceiling was on the floor to start with in that category, haha.

I think now the titan's offense is getting going in the last 5 games than compared to the first 5 games, we'll see more of Murray and Henry piling it on defenses. Both have had lower that expected numbers, (even if you can call Murray's current numbers low). If they are in wildcard contention towards the later end of the season, I'd expect Henry to get more carries to rest Murray on the downhill. Until then, he (Henry) will just be middle range without reaching expectation.

One of the better posts in this entire thread. Titans are starting to put it together and the passing game is continuing to improve, they could certainly be a team to watch out for. Henry is certainly middle range at this point

Traditionally, run sets up the pass, but with Mariotta really letting it loose lately, I think the reverse may be true for the Titans. I think their passing game is setting up the run and both Murray and Henry will benefit.

It was a real game, they were behind, no point in playing him. Or maybe he was injured. To let an injury prone, rather old back like Murray take all the carries you must have no faith in your backups. I mean even Elliot gets a breather every now and then.

Titans anyway are really putting it together. I dont know what "it" stands for, but they are putting it together.

We'll see soon how their wild card run goes from here and if they finally give Henry some reps down the stretch, it's funny that they were considered to be in wildcard contention while Dolphins had no chances, despite same record (same record beforeSunday loss).
