A below average Division III team for me next, so I think that's me through to the 6th round already without any issues.

Weird game for me today.

7-7 at halftime before Staten turned on the style for a 45-7 win. He had a 56% completion rate with about 33% in the first half and 81% in the second!

Great performance from a defense that has struggled in the league as well.

Rewarded with a bot for the next round too.

If You want strange check how an untrained 2k/wk 17 yr old LB with no safety cover kept my offense to under 300 yds .. the same offense that just sliced through the Gnomes (at HOME)
...... and there are still so many who believe there is no 'home field advantage' in the cup

I played a division V team at HOME.. lost . against a 5 D front with NO LBm.. F"g I had 2 TE O-line

Definitely something that should be looked at. Granted my own match looks like both halves were played in very different stadiums!

I have a theory on what is causing it but I can't find the thread which would confirm my line of thinking.
You've been in the game much longer so I'll PM you my thoughts and get your feedback ?

I am ready and willing to play devil's advocate.

Will give me something to think about and I am curious as to your thoughts.

There is no home field advantage in the cup.

Saying that, there have been some strange results... but if there was no element of chance in this competition it would make it a lot easier for the top div teams.

It would be curious to see if many surprising results were when the weaker team was away.

Personally I think there is a cup factor. Whether or not it’s aggression that gets heightened or consistency is key in the cup, who knows. For years, even before home field advantage came in, the cup threw up some interesting results.

I think that there is a factor that results in good teams being (a bit) worse and bad teams being (a bit) better. Luck or motivation... call it what you will.

But he time I won the Cup, I was not the best team and the team playing me came through to the finals 'renting' some players...

I just think it is a Cup and in cup-games, anything can happen.

I reckon cup matches get a bit more of attention. Lose a league game and it is annoying but if the rest of your season works out or is a fail the one game is forgotten. A single early round game can break your cup season entirely and so is more easily noticed.

Of course I have no evidence that this is causing the bias are talking about but it is something to be considered I feel.
