Hm, for me this means: The Div 4 will become more and more bots, cause they will put new GI-players into Div5. When I look at the rate for quiting in my division ...

I'm wondering if this system of 1up/3down is a good one for ALL leagues.
look at this! div V is an almost-all-bot-division.
81 leagues are definitely too much for that division as most of them only contain 1 real player team each.
i'm ranked 9th in my own league, half the season's over, and i must rely on at least two of the other teams in there to lose their games due to bad luck or mistakes that they would make.
i started playing only three and a half weeks ago, so i've got some disadvantages if i'm trying not to fall into a bot league next season.Last edited on 2009-02-23 at 22:42

i don't think that's the problem, because they could fill up the gaps in div 4 with new players as well.
if you ask me, the problem is, that the number of new players isn't big enough to fill a division of 810 team slots.

The admins stated several times they will not push new players into other divisions than the lowest one. At the point Div5 was created this is the league where new players are placed in. Compare to north america!

And yes, many free spots from now...

Then it's even worse
That means an increasing number of bot teams in all higher divisions and at the same time a huge number (in case there will be enough new players to fill V) of real player teams at the lowest level that will be unable to advance besides the few teams that can manage this.

And they should at least put new players in at the highest ranks of div-5-leagues, firstly not to frustrate them and secondly to prevent bot teams from advancing to div4.

I disagree. You are right for frustration, but no newbee can expect to be placed at division first. He has to fight for in the same way like all others did. But of course this is only my opinion.
