Out of the final 64 teams, 11 of them are BOT teams. Very nice that the engine makes it so easy for teams to progress when at least 50+ human teams have been kicked out of the only fair chance any team has to make some money in the game.
For those teams that played another human team and lost - tough call...

Well, it is the same for everyone, isn't it? I had 5 rounds of bots this time, but in the past I also had human teams in round 1 or 2 and that was the end of the cup for me. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes not. In the long run the good and bad luck levels out and on average everyone gets the same income.

Yeah am still reeling from this. Have had to sell 8 first-teamers since our early cup exit and next week my QB is going to have to go too as we're still in a perilous financial position. Effectively amounts to a $4-6m loss for the season when you take away what a decent cup run would have generated
Not saying it isn't a fair playing field/equal chance for all of getting a good or bad draw, but surely just from a gameplay point of view and wanting to keep active managers involved it makes sense to try and keep human teams apart as much as possible in the early rounds until all the BOT teams have been eliminated? (this is the approach taken by a similar basketball game I play, and it works much better in my opinion)
