So i guess you didnt hear of the "Pwn to own" contest in which it took the guy that also won last year a few seconds to hack the mac of which he still havent listed what the exploit was that allowed him complete control over the new and updated mac

So just cause you got a mac dont mean your safe

and just caise you run an antivirus dont mean your safe from anything you need to install windows updates the minute there released for me i enable them to notify me before it downloads them just incase is something i know i dont need but the best way to be safe dont got to any unsafe sites i havent run an antivirus is years and havent had a virus but once from someone else using the pc

But then again theres a lot of people that think they got an antivirus like the not so great AVG or the huge hog that is Norton there safe which make more work for me and the others in the field so continue to to "be safe"

to test if you have it or not try going to the mcafee security page as the worm will allegedly block your access to the page.

Ofcourse I have heard of the hack, but a hack isn't a virus I believe it was with the release of MacBook Air and at a hacker convention, so they were not allowed to release what they had done until the hole was fixed. It might have been another situation, but still it was a hack...

I also read something yesterday that said the worm will block a boot into safe mode. So if I read that right and you can boot your computer into safe mode, you should be fine.

Overall I'm not too worried about it, but like most I'll be interested to see what actually happens with it.

it wasnt a hack he just haded the official a url they went there and in second he had control over the Mac and Mac still have yet to patch the hole but Firefox for the Mac has patched said hole

Most people get there Viruses and what not through a flawed browser like the one Mac uses Safari or in Windows IE

and there was no rule saying they couldnt talk about there hole before the convention and there also no rules that state he has to put out the the hole so just cause you run Mac or Linux dont mean you safe from a lot of the problems on the net cause there affected like Windows

Exactly. You may be safer, but most of that is just because more people run Windows and therefore the people who make the viruses spend more time on there. These people know what they're doing, if they want to make one for a Mac or for Linux, they will.

Well i figure people that chat on forums and are on here know what there doing viruses and what not are for the avg person that dont know anything about a pc aside from email and what they used it for at work

The best way to be safe is dont got to porn sites or click on any links sent to you from anyone you dont know and if you unsure about the email check the original header of said email they dont lie and will tell you the exact server it came from
