Ok, so I have read a lot on how Running is the way to go, but I just had an amazing passing game. I had it on run preference, and my qb was 8-12 with 330 yards! Basically, the one receiver carried the team with these stats:

Games: 1 Touchdowns 5
Passing (yrd) 0 Passing (att) 0 Passing (lng) 0
Rushing (yrd) 0 Rushing (att) 0 Rushing (lng) 0
Receiving (yrd) 238 Receiving (att) 6 Receiving (lng) 62
Interceptions 0 Interceptions (yrd) 0 Interceptions (lng) 0
Field Goals (att) 0 Field Goals 0 Field Goals (lng) 0
Tackles 0 Sacks 0 Fumbles 0

Was this just an anomaly? Or was it a serious mismatch against this guy's defense (ala he didn't have very good tacklers)?

From everything I've seen, it was probably a fluke, or else you have a great QB and WR. The highest completion percentage I've ever seen in a game was around 35%, so going 8-12 is a lot higher than I(and probably most) have seen.

Very well could have been a mismatch as well.

I've found that to be the likely situation, as far as i've experienced it. I've got some sick passing numbers up, but generally only when there has been an utter mismatch, and likewise against myself. Generally stack up against the run and subsequently leave myself exposed in the secondary. Here's hoping that none of my competitors read this post!

yup statistical fluke. Will85 has a fantastic QB and a good set of WR's and he get's less than 50%.

I think one of the current issues is with the whole sim which causes this stuff.
I can think of 1 drive in all my games. 1 proper football style drive with 5+ plays. In GI normally a score seems to be 70+ yards, contain 3-4 missed tackles, and happen in 1 play.
I've not seen a single drive in over a dozen games that went for more than 12 plays, ate up the clock, and looked like a real football drive.
And this is both running and passing. WAY too many huge gain/highlight reel plays, not enough of the mid-short "normal" move the ball stuff.
I'm sure it's something they're working on

I've had a couple of 8 or 9 play drives, but they always end up being the kind that I get 3 or 4 yards per play and then it stalls out around the 50. A couple I had get inside the 20 and I got a FG, but you're right. Most TD drives seem to be 5 plays or less.

yeah there is a large element of all or nothing to GI so far. I think there needs to be a few statistical tweaks for the outcomes, but we're only halfway through the first season we'll see how it fleshes out.

absolutely!

Something else that bothers me, is that QB who are playing out of position(so QB is not their natural position) and have a passing rating which is useless throw TD's over 60 yards.

I'd say they're short passes with broken tackles.

Agreed, poor secondary tackling is the culprit that allows long passing TDs.
