Thanks for the work done.

I will enjoy the sun as long as it lasts.
Lost against the Saints, so in the final ranking I will drop.

Match was won. Am I still in first place now???

@AG
Thanks for the great work, man

Just one questions regarding the impact of the Cup on the Ranking: i am semifinalist in the cup and according to your ranking at position 23.

On the other hand, e.g. the TBV Mengede is at position 20 and earned 2 more wins than my team in the league, but unfortunately the team failed early in the cup, overall i won overall 4 more Cupgames (i have to admit that i had not to compete against any TD or II. division team and therefore had a somewhat "easy" schedule).
We are both Div. II Teams, he is third in his division, i am fifth.

Considering the just mentioned: may i assume that the impact of the cup is rather small? Could you comment on that?

Well - some do think, and expressed also in the past, that the impact of the cup is too high!

Here once again the idea behind - i hope this answers your question

The rankings are not about "who is the better team" but more "who had a better season so far"! The formula takes into account, where each team is within their division, but also if you beat a team in a higher or lower conference. Also it takes into account League and Regional Cup games.

You want to be in? It is really easy, just follow these two steps:
-> collect wins!
-> promote!

...

As always, don't take this too seriously...it's just here to add an extra dimension to a game that sorely needs more dimensions.

Thats exactly what i was wondering about...i think i had a rather good season so far since being in the semifinals of the cup is in my opinion a huge success.

Which team had a more successful season, the one finishing 3rd in the league but failing early in the cup or the team finishing 5th but hading a shot advancing to the cup final?

I think you can imagine what my opinion is
Like i said, other Div. II. might have won 2-3 more games in their leagues (and will not promote as well) but was their season really more successful?

Well...anyway, i do not think that you will change anything in the formula (which is of course fine); i just think a factor should be added reflecting the pure progress in the cup, since this is what makes a season successful in terms of cup matches (and not only the quality of the opponents you beat).

...being lucky and beating bot/low division teams - well, its luck, but not "mathematical" succesful from the "ranking point of view"

Basically i understand you - but starting adding a factor would mean, i would also have to track all (every single one) teams, since there are a lot out there of lower divisions making it easily into mid+ rounds...

...and this is not feasable for me... or at least i dont have the time to do so. I hope you understand / thanks for.

Just get the win on tuesday... im sure this will help to "solve" the situation for the moment ;-)
