This may be a silly question, but it has to be asked.

Agility is in both the Attacking and Defending groups is there a difference between training one vs the other. I'm guessing not, but I don't understand why it is in two different groups if they don't do separate things. I've been training my Defensive players in the Defending group and my Offensive players in the Offensive group just in case..., but clarification would be appreciated.

I don't think anyone knows for sure, but I'd say that most of us would probably guess that they're the same. Probably just put it in both since pretty much every position can use agility and there are always secondary skills that get points when you train.

Defending Group has 3 attributes, attacking has Five (I think).. so by the training schedule, choosing one or the other will impact how much goes to Agility, and how much goes into the "other skills".

Without running the numbers - for Offensive linemen, TEs, and FBs, I'd use the Agility in the Defensive section because they also use blocking and don't need passing or Carrying/catching...

... Atleast this is the way I understand it to work.

Actually for training All Skills in a sub-set that does make a lot of sense. By putting Agility into the Defending sub-set they are pretty much telling us that Agility is important for Defensive personnel, but that would also mean that Blocking and Tackling are... It's just the Blocking skill that throws me out of whack. Assuming that the O-Line are the blockers maybe they intend for the D-Line to "block" the run rather than just rely on tackling the runner.

I'm reading blocking as helping to push people out of the way, which is good on the offense to make a hole for the rusher, and good for the defense to get the person out of the way so you can barrel into the QB.

It's too bad that we don't get an encyclopedia of the different attributes telling what actions they are helpful for. Even if we didn't get the actual formulas - I don't see a problem with knowing that blocking helps to bypass the oline or not.

I kind of view the defensive training group as more the linemen training group -- blocking, tackling and agility all fall nicely into realm.

With Blocking being for the Offense and Tackling being for the Defense it doesn't make sense to me to combine Agility in the same subset as Defense and Attacking then. You would never ever use the train all skill in the Defensive subset because a Defender won't want to risk that Blocking is the first randomly selected skill set and an Offensive player won't want to risk that the randomly selected skill set is Tackling.

Hrmm I guess this should be taken to suggestions then. There is no need for the attacking subset to contain passing catching and carrying when they're all tied to a specific position. No one will ever use (or rather should ever use) the all skills selection in either the Attacking or Defending skill sets. No position on the field for Offense will want Passing as the 1st randomly selected subset except for the QB. So no one should risk the majority of their training points getting sucked into Passing.

My suggestion would be to better organize the Training sets and sub-sets. By position would be AWESOME, but I realize that that would defeat the idea of us figuring out what stat goes to what position.

How about letting us choose the skills that are randomly selected. This suggestion would require a re-work of the entire Training Page, but not any of the game mechanics behind the training. It is just an interface change. Right now it just doesn't make sense to train all Skills in the defending or attacking sub sets or why Agility is in both attacking and defending.

Just to save you time, it's not gonna happen. It's been bandied about before.

Is it because of difficulty of implementation or other?
