Do nickel packages work, just set one up for my next match as all the guy does is pass. The only way I could set it up was to have five linemen with a pass rush LB on the edge. Was wondering though will putting my LB on the line, turn him into a D linemen and reduce his performance from 3* LB to .5 DL.

Yes, your 3* LB will only be a .5* DLinemen if you play him on the DL. Its the same for all positions also.

As for the Nickle package, I don't think it makes all that much difference having tried it on a few occasions. The only deviation from a base D that I found makes a slight difference is playing 3 Safeties.

I found having 2 free safeties cut down the big breakaway touchdowns against Villa Del. His QB isn't that great to drive the ball up the field on long drives.

If he isn't running, sacrifice one of the DT's, they make very little impact on the passing game. (If someone can confirm this, that'd be great)

Tough team to get a result from, so good luck Fd.

Thanks guys, would be nice to have a few more defencive formations in the game. Just went through the last game and its mainly short to med outs, with two wide outs and two TE, one on either side of the line, pretty even spread too with both recievers and weaker tight end gettin 10 - 12 catches each and his best TE getting 15. I'll go with a 3DL 4LB 2CB and 2S form and cross my fingers.

I have had success with 3 x DL, 3 x LB, 2 x CB, 1 x SS Centre, 1 x FS Left and 1 x FS Right.

It looks odd but it does seem to limit the big plays. I have seen formations with 2 x DL be effective too as the engine favours the passing game so much. One thing about DLs is that they can mess with your opponent's passing by pressuring the QB - a pressure = an incompletion.
