Well, in speeches you can line up 2 or 3 "uhs" or "ums" and it doesn't seem to be a problem. If you start doubling and tripling "thes", then all of a sudden you have a stuttering problem
my guess here is that uhs, ums, huhs aso are not counted in these studies as they are not considered words in some medias =P

They aren't words, they are notice that the speaker has not prepared well for the speech
