Well, in speeches you can line up 2 or 3 "uhs" or "ums" and it doesn't seem to be a problem. If you start doubling and tripling "thes", then all of a sudden you have a stuttering problem

my guess here is that uhs, ums, huhs aso are not counted in these studies as they are not considered words in some medias =P

They aren't words, they are notice that the speaker has not prepared well for the speech

6% of all words spoken in the english language is "the"

In speeches, I would guess "uh" and "um" have "the" beat

One of the 2015 winners of the Ig Nobel prize in the category of Literature was a team who discovering that the word "huh" seems to exist in every human language.

http://www.improbable.com/ig/winners/

this brings into question, is huh a word or just a sound? =P

This is the published paper about it:

http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0078273

It talks about that in the intro as the paper's purpose is to demonstrate that "huh" is universal and also that it is actually a word

Soon they will discover that this is the word/sound out of which all languages have grown. Then apply QM.

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-around-the-nfl/0ap3000000551495/Woodson-Peyton-has-eluded-me-for-18-years

see from the 1:43 mark

Rod Woodson chuckles to himself and asks himself "did I really just say that?".

Yes you did Rod - taking the notion of "these old fellas really stick together" to all new heights!

Mercifully, the interviewer never missed a beat!

Along the same lines: it's never the same day everywhere in the world.

The magnetic north pole currently resided in Canada, about 1000 miles south of the geographic north pole

A compass actually points towards the south pole, not the north

A random fact heard on the Radio yesterday.....Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen is the only UK number one that doesn't mention its own name in the songs lyrics but DOES mention the song that replaced it at number one.
