Some reasonable Aus talent coming out of Wanderland -

Hopefully he turns out to be a decent player. I couldn't find a future spot for him on my team. Have 2 or 3 other young Aussies who are equal/higher talent but have better physicals, so Newton had to go. I honestly thought he'd be lucky to attract a bid on the market, as it's been tough to sell off even 4* guys lately, hence the cheap start prices. The interest in him was surprising, but definitely welcomed.

He was a 4.5* TAL wasn't he?

He is. It was the only reason I hadn't palmed him off already. Would be bittersweet to see him develop into a 20/20 physical monster. I'd be impressed actually.

If he was a year younger he'd have been a definite keeper. Personally, if he'd come out of my YA I'd have found his caps and if either was high he'd have been a keeper anyway - just a late bloomer. As you will discover as you go along, 4.5/5* TAL with good CON and decent INT are VERY valuable - even if they'll be late bloomers.

I actually bid on him and might have even won the bidding (I would have drawn the line at $150k on such a gamble), but I started watching project's AFLC game (commiserations to him incidentally ) and forgot all about it!
