Have to say, I think what's available to whomever is the NT over the next 2-3 seasons will probably be as good as it's ever going to get player quality wise.

I'm basing this on the fact we have lost 2 Division 2 sides in Carrickfergus and the Pumas, with the Pumas lost being a huge blow considering there all Irish approach. Aswell as this, Gang Green and the Celtics are struggling with finances so their futures are slightly uncertain.

It's disappointing we have only qualified once since the WC began. I think we have the quality, but a combination of bad luck and apathy hasn't helped. Hopefully things turn around this cycle.

Hopefully the community doesn't continue to get smaller and we can regroup.

It is a pity about the two Div II teams. Pumas seemed to have a couple of players reaching NT standard but I don't know if they needed further training, at the very least it wouldn't have hurt.

Still we have what we have. Hopefully we can work our way out of this dip in teams (noting that we had 3 managers running for the position, 2 of which are in Div III) over the next few seasons.

I will be amazed if all of the groups are exactly the same.

Doubt they will be. It'll just be showing last year's groups. Call-ups end today, so based on how things seem to work around here, only once that stage has ended will the next stage be started.

Would expect actual groups and fixtures over the weekend.

Pretty sure groups and fixtures will be today. Seem to remember that's what happened last cycle.

They say the calls up close on friday, but this is actually a bit deceptive as they close part way through the day and we aren't told what time on friday they close!

They've cleared last cycle's qualifying groups so I think that means they're in the process of sorting the new groups.

Just looked back in the thread for last cycle. I posted about the groups on the friday the calls up closed. It was about 11.45am GI server time so not that consistent

Ah, see I jumped the gun on the groups!

Finland
Netherlands
Bulgaria
Brazil

Tough group, but still think its manageable. I don't think there is much between Ireland, Brazil and Finland. While the Netherlands are ageing and not as strong as they were. Bulgaria are still developing but may cause a shock or two.

Best of luck Coach.
