Hell no. This is a very deep defensive draft group. And the Dolphins are short in every defensive position except DLs. I say pick best available at 23.

If it's such a deep draft, would it not make sense to trade down and acquire more bites at the apple?

Maybe? But you are vague on how far to drop down. So you question isn't answerable without you providing more details.

You might get top 15 defensive quality due to the deepness of this draft at #23. You ain't gonna get top 15 quality aiming at the top of the second round. Unless all the QB go in the first round. Which I doubt.

There are a lot of teams in more need of offense in the first round after 22 where the dolphins pick. The dolphins need to fill holes at cb, olb, and og as soon as possible. By trading the first for 2 seconds or a second and an early third we can acquire quality players at all those positions.

Some draft expert months ago suggested to pick Tabor. I'm with it only if he can ride a motorcycle on the field or he will struggle to get dowfield with receivers.

hahaha, the CB formally know as Jalen. He is good and fast on the field. He stole the show during Hargreaves last season at UF, when they threw the ball to his side. Opposition threw away from him all last season and he still had 6 picks. I don't think he will be around when the Dolphins get the chance to pick, but he is a head case, so perhaps he will be. In that case, he's a perfect fit for the Dolphins, both on and off the field.

I'd rather see the Dolphins go after Davis, he will be a solid LB and may be around for their pick

I dont like Harris. Not to the point where I think he is bad but I liked better other prospects (TJ Watt). He is a good scheme fit and has a wonderful spin, I hope he can grow the rest of his game because he isnt an athletic freak and will get beaten on athleticism alone.

McMillan was one of my favourite LB, my number 3 after Davis and Foster (who is a risky pick).

Tankersley is a very good cover corner but cant tackle to save his life. Still good for a bottom third round.

Asiata will have a chance to contribute from the start, we needed a mauler in there, he has to prove he can play at a higher level with much more complicated protection calls but the ability is there.

Godchaux and Taylor are just guys but could be good to rotate in as subs. If they are like Fede, able to stay on the field some and contribute on specific tasks, I'm happy with that.

The receiver I have no idea.

I've been quite busy at work, but I just had to stop in and comment, since I'm such a huge Bears fan. CUTLER! Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

First off, so glad he's gone from Chicago, you don't even know half the joy for me when I found this news! Now the bad part, you will never win a super bowl with this guy, that's just a fact. I know he will look good in pre-season, that's classic Cutler. He also looks super awesome in practice. Here's the problem, he's just not a big game QB. He either plays injured or gets injured, but it will cripple the team in crunchtime. You thought Tannebomb liked to get hit, Cutler loves, loves, loves to mix it up. He will certainly have some big games, because he is a good QB, just not a great QB and it will get worse as the season goes on. Let's face it, getting hit a lot hurts. So, enjoy the good games, don't get your hopes up...........he will dash them and remember, you will never win a SB with Cutler at the helm. If you need references, please consult the Bears or the Broncos and if that doesn't convince you, please reference his storied stat lines from Vandy 59-36-80, which is TDs, INTs and Sacks for his career

I'm not sure even the most ardent Dolphins fan believes Cutler can lead them to the Super Bowl.
