Not quite sure why? I just meant that my team has played better in the Cup than maybe it should have. Same with the AFLC, my team has been very lucky there too. I've had 3 trips to the Iron Bowl and 3 wins. Compare that to a legendary Grizzly team that had horrible luck and probably one of the best teams ever, just one win after 5 tries. It's all smoke and mirrors over here

I meant my early exit

I need a long Cup run, but I feel bad about taking out the Sharks, a div V team, so early. A terrible draw for them. I'm glad to be erasing bots now. And I wonder if part of the problem with matching human v human while bots are still available is that teams can go bot at any time. It may be an engine limitation is all, but strategically there would still be some who got an advantage when their opponent suddenly went bot (or quit caring).

It's been a long time since I had a bot stomp. It feels so good to be able to fit in some young guys and cruise to a win. I don't recall getting a bot in the cup last year and their were no bots in the TD so it might be my first bot stomp in 2 seasons!

This will be my third Regional Cup. I've managed to get to round six or seven each time, which I think is pretty good considering I've got a reasonably new team compared to a lot of the stalwarts.

What makes this next round interesting is I've matched up against a team I've played a few times before in Moose Jaw's CUP series. I've had the upper hand in most of these matches, but it looks like he's got a good squad. We'll see how this week fares.

As to everyone bot stomping and taking down new teams early, it's unfortunate, but we've all been that early stage team and we've all been stomped. (I'm still early stage and getting stomped or I'd be going further in than round 7). It's nice to see gradual improvement season to season and slowly improve the squad.

Peace

My Vikes just played their first game ever that they scored a TD on every possession. There's always been at least once or twice that they ended up punting or throwing an INT, or maybe just had the ball when time ran out in a half, but this time they scored a TD every time they got the ball. Beer and steaks for the boys!

It was against a human opponent, which would make me feel bad except it's a new Div V team and they haven't logged in in a week so I don't think it's a serious player.

Closer match than expected against a good Div. III team. Had I logged in and watched it live, I would've been treated to the sight of the Red Gremlins tying the game - twice - and staying strong through the 3rd quarter.

Up next: at least one Div. II team will be out after my next game - I'm playing another squad in my league.

Yeah the Gremlins are for real. They spent two seasons in D2 before dropping back to D3. They'll be back to D2 next season as the only team that has beaten them in league play this season is mine, but he played some backups due to my intentional drop of two games early in season to ensure I'd have a third season in D3.

So while he did well, he's supposed to have. I don't know if I'd have been competitive against his full starting roster.

I don't mind playing a bot next round.

I do mind playing a bot in 8th place at their 90,800 seat stadium. We'll be lucky to fill half that. I'll lose $200-$300k next round just by playing an away game instead of my place.
