No illusions here. Bosnia won't be advancing out of the group stage. But it will be more competitive this year.

No real surprises this week, apart from Netherlands fielding a bot offence.

France will take the easy road against DK... forgot to set lineup after injury to key WR...

Ugh. Bosnia's three losses are by a total of 20 points. So close yet so far away.

Three groups decided today:

Group A

Mexico was already qualified for WC and finished the first phase with a OT win over Romania. On the other match, the Hungary team played BOT and Spain achieved a surprising classification, the first since WC 19.

Group B

The USA team is in the WC for the 9th consecutive time after a not-so-easy victory over Canada. Switzerland and Sweden battled for the other place. The swiss team played better and is back to the WC after 2 seasons of absence.

Group D

This group was already decided, with the two favorite teams achieving an early classification (as expected). Today, Germany confirmed their position as WC title contenders after beating Slovakia, the another qualified team.


On the other groups...

- Italy was leading Group C but lost today and is out of qualifying zone right now. We have seen this film before... (Italy last appearence in WC was in WC 17);

- Group E is still unclear with France, Brazil and Denmark battling;

- Venezuela reached the 13th consecutive defeat;

- Croatia and UK are one step closer to WC (the 3rd consecutive time with both teams on WC);

- Bosnia finally lost for more than 10 points;

- Ukraine and Serbia are technically qualified in Group G;

- Ukraine have never played a WC group phase;

- Australia keeping the disappointing campaign with a 1-4 record (worst streak in aussie history);

- Poland keeps leading Group H after beating Ireland, that is still pursuing the 2nd place;

- Colombia have won another one on Group H and is dreaming with its first WC.
