Happy Valentine's Day to everyone.

But I'm sorry to inform you that due to the fact that this is just a money grabbing scheme from companies such as Hallmark and Nestle, I will NOT be buying anything for anyone. In fact, I will not rest until the whole notion of Valentine's Day is put to bed, and the world starts to love each other 365 days a year, not just one day in February.

So we make Valentine's day once every 4 years on February 29th?

Nope, that's just the one day we're allowed to not love each other.

Valentines day has been celebrated long before the hallmark type crap got added to it. The one you need to rail against is Sweetest day.

OK then, Valentine's Day as it's celebrated now is a money grabbing scheme.

Time go get back to what it used to be. I still hold that we should try to love each other 365(or 366 days a year in case croverja reads this) days a year instead of this one. Kinda like how we should give all year, not just as Christmas and should be thankful all year, not just at Thanksgiving.

But yes, sweetest day is evil.

Basically the same thing as Valentine's Day, probably only observed in the US. From it's wikipedia page, it says it's mostly in the Great Lakes and Northeast regions of the US.

It's in October and was basically just an invention of chocolate companies so they could make more money.
