Valentine's Day went great for me! I bought some red, purple, and white tulips online for me g/f. Problem was I had to cut and arrange them myself.! After much googling and "shucking" the leaves off the tulips, I had everything done right. Turns out that the "myth" about putting a penny or two in the bottom of a tulip vase to make them stand straighter had some truth in it. What they rarely mention in the myth is that penny's are no longer made of pure copper and thus newer pennies would only work a little. Being a coin collector, I knew that pennies made before 1982 were entirely copper so I grabbed the oldest pennies I could find and threw them in the vase. It turned out great!

On V-day, I took my g/f to Olive Garden b/c it was her favorite restaurant. Since we couldn't reserve a table (no reservations on Sat.) we went at 4:00 to beat the rush. I went up to the hostess and asked what kind of wait it would be. She said that it was going to be "about 120, 125 minutes" I about crapped myself. We ended up going to Applebees where the wait was an hour and 15min. At one point about 15 min. after we got there, they called out somebodies name (not ours) and suddenly the notifier in my pocket went off. I walked and gave it to the hostess without saying anything and we got our table which was likely meant for whoever had the notifier before us. We ended up finishing eating before we would have got in! We then proceeded to go to Olive Garden where my name was still on the list. 15 minutes after getting there, my name was called and we went in, sat down and grabbed desert (they didn't have cheesecake at Applebees). It was a hell of a day!

Wow Squish, you had a day to remember and that is the important thing.

Now where is my box of Thorntons chocolates?

If she likes Olive Garden try Biaggi's next time for roughly $3-5/plate more. Awesome romantic atmosphere and the food is to DIE for. Not to mention a stellar single malt selection should you be so inclined.
