It can happen. Players can only have 1 BPOS. And it takes 10 games played at a position to reach the next .5 star. So when a player switches BPOS, they "lose" 1 game at their previous BPOS. So, if you switch positions the game after the player reaches that .5 star at his BPOS, he will lose 1 game from that position which will put him back down .5 star. To prevent this, play him several games at his current BPOS. Then switch back to the previous BPOS and play until he regains that .5 star. (should only take 1 game)

If you keep switching positions every game, the player will continually lose and gain .5 star at those two positions.

Again, to stop this, just play the player at 1 position for several games after he tops out, then switch positions. You won't ever lose the .5 star then.

Now there is an occasional bug I've had before that for some reason, when the player lost the .5 star, I had to play him another 10 games at that position to regain that .5 star instead of just the 1 game is should have taken. It didn't happen often and it's been a long time since I've done anything like that so I don't know if that bug might still be around.
