Dear Community,

The Community Buy-Out Project has, alas, failed in its goal.
We have worked hard on getting a group of people in place that could:
-1- raise the money need to buy the game and
-2- run the game on a day to day basis
In the end point 2 turned out to be an insurmountable problem. At a certain point we stopped making progress on the preparations for a Buy-Out due to lack of time and also due to health problems with some of the members of the Buy-Out Management team.

I would like to thank all the members who invested their time and effort for their contributions.
I would also like to thank The Owner who was very supportive during the whole process

The game we all enjoy will continue to run as it has for years. The fact that The Owner recently invested in transfering grid-iron to a new server with all the adaptations that this requires shows that it is in good hands.

Users were confused and that hurt the game (you can't read what we get from users over PM or email), however you want to spin it. And that's why the owner stopped the thing.

If the game dies is up to users. Until at least the basic costs are covered by supporters, there is no intention to close the game.

It's no secret owner has health issues himself and it's not a secret that GI is not a job (initiative got all the financial info, so that much was clear).
Even we, the admins, are working basically for free and are volunteers.

I will close this topic too, because there's no reason to continue this debate.
